I don't care for the side-skirts.
I think the car looks cleaner and more tapered without. I did add XPEL to the rockers and the area forward of the rear tires to protect against glancing blows from road debris, which has worked perfectly.

I think the Stingrays look absolutely great as is. The skirts are for looks and "some" protection. Z06/Grand Sports NEED SKIRTS, the wide body and extended rear brake ducts necessitate Skirts.
For you, I think it ALL boils down to personal taste. I know some folks who think a rear spoiler is for teens only. Again, ask your self what "Feels right" to YOU! You don't need the group to think for you.

I had the same debate. I wanted the protection but not sure I liked the look. I ordered them still not sure I would install them. When they arrived I propped them in place and removed them about ten times. In the end I decided I liked the look better with them and installed them. I knew that to complete the look I would add the front splitter. All are in carbon flash. Just looks amazing. I also have chrome wheels. I can assure you no one confuses my car with a civic!

It's just my opinion OP, but I was going to get the rockers and splitter until I saw another 16 z51 in person with all pieces installed. Changed my mind quickly. Unless you're going to get the wider z06 wheels, it just doesn't look right to me. Makes our rims look small and narrow. If others intalled and love them, great, not knocking you, but the stock look works for me.

I don't track my corvette so I was told not to add side skirts. I understand opinions are subjective and subjected to individual taste. I am asking your opinions if side skirts would add to the physical aesthetics of my car as it appears now. Or, would they be considered over dressing? Thanks✌

Totally agree! Just more stuff to hang on an already good looking vehicle. Looks good, as is.

Several months after adding side skirts, when I realized my plastic was no longer getting marked I was able to remove it, which had also discolored besides looking bad! My C7 is 40 months old and looks new.
Details:
My '88 and '93 Vettes had marks from debris caused by pebbles hitting the bottom panels, front and rear.
When I ordered my yellow '08 was determined to not have that happen. Installed contoured painted mud flaps as soon as I got the car that stopped the problem.
As soon as I got the C7 I ordered GM splash guards. Found the fronts did little because of the Coke bottle shape on the bottom behind the front wheel wells. The backs worked. Just look at where GM puts the thick protective plastic- from the center of the doors back. Can't expect a splash guard to stop pebbles leaving those sticking tires to do much-they don't!
I bought side skirts and they stopped all marking. I could hear the pebbles hit the bottom and still do but none reach the rocker panels or the visible parts of the side skirts.
Once I was sure they were doing the job I was able to remove the marked up, discolored plastic. I did and not a mark on my 40 month old car!
For my C6 added contoured painted "Mud Flaps" front and back that some thought did not look good. Since I believe in "Form Follows Function" thought they were fine! The C7 Coke bottle shape did not allow the GM Splash Guards to do much for the front, still getting marks from pebbles from the door back. The backs work fine. Added side skirts and all marks stopped. Was able to remove the marked up, discolored GM plastic!

However they are rubber covered steel and do help when washing the roof! But can't step on the C7 side skirts, but no need to reach the roof!
In both cases "Form Follows Function," so without marks on my C7 rocker panels they look great to me!
Very functional rubber covered metal running boards. Useful when washing the roof!
