You were THERE? How cool is that! I guess you did the build observation tour. That would have been a treat. this has moved so fast. About a month between order and build.

So, the car is now completed. You can then pick and choose the date you want to arrive at the NCM, to take delivery up to weeks after it's build date?

They want you to take delivery as soon as possible, within a month of the build. But it's kind of a crap shoot because they can't always tell you when the car will be available and there might be a delay. I ordered from the dealer January 11th asking them to target April 1st, but the fact is it will be ready in a week or two now. They kind of jumped the gun, but on the other hand, the orders are going through VERY fast right now. Shane was really pushing me to take delivery as soon as possible because "Chevrolet doesn't like the cars to sit around." One of the problems is airline reservations because the closer you get the more expensive they are. I just got word today from Shane at the NCM that my reservation for April 6th is solid, so I'll be able to book everything today as well. It's kind of like the message is, 'Be patient! Slow down! Don't make reservations yet! Whoa! Wait a sec! It's done: Hurry! Hurry! Hurry! Why aren't you here yet?"

I'm just waiting for the parental meltdown when Scarlett starts dating! Because, lets face it, they all do it before we're ready!

Yes, I've got NCM delivery. The museum sent me three pictures. I wasn't expecting them, but I did buy the album, so they may have been part of that. (We'll see.) I know there is a deadline, but the NCM has been flexible in the past, so if you want the album you could give it a try.

Sounds like a really nice package

Yes, well my first problem is my grandson, who has announced to me that he will have a learner's permit by the time I see him next and that he is looking forward to learning a clutch.

Congrats on the new ride. We are debating when to order vs the June shutdown. We want the NCM delivery + the buyers tour where we actually BIRTH it ( turn the engine on the first time on the assembly line). Shane said last date to do that would be to place an order no later than April 15. It might be the last one to come off the line before the 6mo shutdown !!
so you had the car built basically 4 weeks after order? Thats probably too quick for us. The wife is having knee replacement last week of March and I doubt she could stand the 8hr walking along with the car only 10 weeks after surgery
