You can come out way ahead by buying a new car with base wheels instead of buying optional for roughly $1,500-2,000. Go with base then you have a blank canvas to buy whatever wheels you want. Pay about $100 to have your stock tires swtiched over to the new wheels then sell the stock wheels. With luck you can get $500-600 for the set.

I also prefer the Z51 style to the Z06 style. The latter is just too busy.

The Z06 wheels require a lot of work to keep clean.

Never, ever, nunca jamás!

I'm admittedly 'old school' and much prefer chrome.

Keep both! Black z51 has my winter tire, z06 black chrome has my summer rubber. It's nice to switch them out and keep people guessing.

Door #3. If you're gonna swap out the wheels, go aftermarket. Forged.

Unless I can pick up a set of Chrome OEM Z51 wheels at a really good price, I'm probably going to go with aftermarket Z06. However, I'm waiting at least until after April 30. The aftermarket folks might start making the GS wheels to fit Z51 and I'd like to see what GM offers for 2018.
The third reason I'm waiting is I have to pay for a wedding on May 20. If I can't afford the Z06 after May 20, maybe I can afford the wheels.

My car came with those Z51 silver painted wheels, so as a chrome kinda guy, I swapped those out for the OEM chromies.

I'm a BIG FAN of the Z06 style wheels. In fact, I wish I had gone with the stock silver wheel instead of ordering the Stingray chrome wheels when I placed my factory order. I could have used that money to buy the Z06 wheels instead.

Don't get me wrong the standard chrome wheels are awesome too but now I rather have the Z06 wheels.

I voted for the Z06 Style Wheels but to each his own! My Z51 is at the shop having my Z51 wheels taken off and my new Z06 wheels put on and I am very excited.

Hats off to Managerman as I got the inspiration from his Arctic White Z51.

I bought my Z06 wheels from West Coast Corvette a Corvette Forum Vendor. They will purchase your non-damaged black gloss wheels as a trade in which reduces the net cost considerably to around $400-500 depending on your wheels condition! Call Joe below as he is great to work with.

If you have any questions about your order status, please contact your sales representative Joe Wright at (888) 737-8388 x222 or joe@westcoastcorvette.com.

Stock Z51 wheels were OK, but the Z06's totally transformed my car.
(Tint didn't hurt either.)

Car Looks Nice!

Z06 Style Wheel on the all black is soooooo much nicer than the stock wheels. So the look might depend on the color of the car and/or preference of chrome by some. Overall, the Z06 style wheels makes the vehicle look much nicer on all color C7 Stingrays / Z51's in my opinion.

I am in 100% agreement with this!

I had spyder wheels on my '09 Z06, and when clean, it was hard to beat in the looks department, but they were a PITA to clean. I called them the "Thomas' English Muffins of Wheels" because of all the nooks and crannies.
