Is it just me, or is Sport Mode more comfortable than Touring?

Is it just me, or is Sport Mode more comfortable than Touring?
Hey all, just thought I'd share my thoughts on this and see if anyone else has made the same observations. For those of you with MagRide, what setting do you usually drive on? I drove mostly on touring up until today, now I'm driving in sport mode and I have to say, the car is absorbing bumps MUCH better than in touring mode. When I go over a bump in touring it feels overly harsh, but in sport mode, as counter intuitive as it may sound, the car soaks up the bump very quickly and moves on. I haven't broken 700 miles yet, but just an observation I've made so far!

It all depends on the roads you're driving, but my impression is the opposite.

I mean I live in the Metro Detroit area, so the roads are pretty bumpy and uneven for the most part, but for some reason sport just feels more comfortable. I don't know why, the car just feels like it's reacting faster and regaining its composure after a bump quicker than it would in touring, if that makes any sense.

Having spent time in the Detroit metro, I don't think the roads in the Washington, DC area are any better. I still found Tour on broken pavement better.
However, I recently replaced the factory MSRC controller with the DSC Sport controller, and the car has been transformed. All modes soak up up every imperfection.
Do a search on "DSC Sport," and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I have a couple of 2000+ mile trips on mine and I've found that tour mode is a lot more comfortable in general. When I'm home, I keep it in sport though because I like the steering feel better.

^^^^ Tour is a bit smoother to me.
BTW, you can set the steering to Sport regardless of what mode your in.

Tour is def smoother to me. I can tell when sport mode is on because more things rattle.
I am curious how tour and sport would be on cars without magnetic ride is there a big difference?

I love the suspension in sport mode, but I wouldn't say it's more "comfortable" than touring. I find it harsher. I drive (mostly) in sport mode, but set steering to tour (I like the lighter feel) and exhaust to track (because the m7 active rev match sounds so friggin' awesome...).

Well I drove my car for the first time yesterday. Took it to Boca for the PPF install, finally. Coming from my F55 07 I was really shocked at how rough the car felt in tour...along with the steering which felt like I had 40psi in the tires. Going to have to see and make adjustments. Sport seemed better to me. This gen is WAY more sophisticated than the last.

I dd my M7 Z51 MRS C7 and the roads are harsh here in SoCal, to say the least. I absolutely drive in Tour mode 90% of the time due to the rough ride on most of my commute. Sport mode is too stiff and will rattle my teeth out of my head on some stretches of road.

Me thinks it is the placebo effect. You are driving a "sports" car - it's supposed to be tight.
However, I drive almost entirely in Sport mode as I like a little tighter feel. I keep the steering in Tour and the exhaust in Track just because that is what I like for daily driving. On road trips I will choose either Touring or Eco, both of which give a smoother ride in my opinion. With my car (non-Z51 with MSRC), I can feel a big difference between Tour, Sport and Track, with each getting progressively more aggressive as expected. First mag shock equipped car and I live it.

Mahbe it is just me haha, perhaps a placebo effect, I'll be doing more "research" today I love these cars!

The suspension is more comfortable in touring mode to me. I prefer the steering in sport mode most of the time though and sport mode isn't stiff enough to bother me. So I set my exhaust to track so it's always loud and flip between touring and sport depending on how I feel

I also have this question. For those of use without Magnetic ride, how is the suspension changed in the various modes? I thought it was only throttle response and steering feel?

I switch between Tour and Sport depending what mood I'm in. Tour is more plush and comfortable IMO.

I prefer the touring mode over the sport mode for overall comfort. It is my understanding that the sport mode is designed to give you a better feel of the road you are driving on. That means a harsher ride.
