Why there are not so many Black Rose Corvettes out there?

Why there are not so many Black Rose Corvettes out there?
Is it just me or I see that Black Rose Metallic of 17 is not so common as the other colors?
are there any colors that are more "rare" than others?
What do you think?

You don't see as many because there aren't as many. So yes, it is rarer. I would say it's rarer for a simple reason....people like other choices better. Rare or unique colors or special editions don't add much if any to the bottom line at resale.....I know as I have a "special edition". It's more about loving what you have while you drive it then resale potential. I like all the colors but favor mine naturally.

Although I like the color, most people who can afford to buy a $60K+ toy tend to be older and very conservative. White, Silver, Red and Black...
Go to a Porsche dealer... White, Silver, Red and Black.
Go to a BMW or MB dealer... White, Silver, Red and Black...
Waa, Slaa, and Blaa...
With grey interior, of course...

If everyone wanted Black Rose, there would be plenty to go around. The factory simply paints cars based upon ordering percentages.
It's a very pretty color, but purple has always been a "polarizing" color for a car.

You don't see that many because the color was just introduced for 2017. Personally, I think GM has too many dark colors for the C7 and not enough vibrant colors. Instead a dark metallic purple, a dark metallic copper-ish red (LBR), a dark metallic blue, etc., why not have some true bright colors that pop?! It's like GM is trying to hide the lines and contrasting Carbon Flash vents.

One of the problems with colors like Black Rose is they cost money. There were other colors I wanted besides the shark gray I got in 15, but I didn't feel like paying $500-$1000 for a color. Really liked Laguna blue, but it was $1k. Of course now you can get damn near the same color for $0.

This isn't the first time for Black Rose Metallic on a Corvette. It was available for 3 years on the C4 Corvette 1992-1994. I had Black Rose on the '92 and '94 Convertibles that I bought used. Can look Burgundy or Purple depending on the light. Do not think I would order it, but would accept it if the car on the lot had all the other right options.

To me, Black is preferable to the Black Rose.
I walked the long row of new C7s yesterday, at Friendly Chevrolet in Dallas, Texas, and that's how it struck me, anyway. There was a Black Rose a couple of spaces away from the Black - and I just love the C7 in Black, versus BR.

There are colors that people love, and there are colors that people buy. Colors that people love are not always the ones they buy.
Green and Black Rose are colors that fit into this category.

Like everyone else stated. Dealers don't wanna be stuck with them. Have to find that special buyer willing to even consider it. Me personally it was black, red or yellow. I went with black against my better judgment. Had a couple black cars in the past and said never again. Well I did anyway and love it.

It's kind of like playing craps. You play your money on the high probability plays which happen to be Red, Black, White, Grey and Silver. 90% of what I've ordered this year fits those parameters. The Admiral Blue may be a little bit of an exception on the GS with its popular heritage with red and white stripes. Other than that, we like to bank on popular choices and that's why Kalahari and grey interiors are also built in far fewer numbers. Black and red and classically popular interior colors. Also the same logic applies to the auto vs manual argument. You need to make sure that you balance the inventory at 3 to 1 auto to manual.
With niche colors you try to stock a coupe and convertible so people can look at them and figure out which one that they would like to order and that's that. Long Beach Red and Blackrose seem to be popular colors that people are ordering.
