Heated seat slow to warm up-don't get as warm
I just bought a '17 Grand Sport-it's great in all respects. Traded in an '08 3LT. One difference I've noticed is that the heated seat in the '08 would heat up quickly and on the high setting get really warm. In the '17, it seems to heat up rather slowly and never gets quite as warm as I experienced in the '08. Has anyone else noticed this in the newer Vettes?

This has been a common complaint since the C7 came out.

I find it pretty amazing how fast we get accustomed to these new car changes. A number of years ago if you complained about "my seat doesn't get warm enough" or even that you wanted heated seats you would have been laughed off this forum.

Funny you would say that because the used BMW I bought this past summer has the heated steering wheel, and as much as I like the heated seats, I like the heated steering wheel even more. Getting soft in my old age.

Same thing with trucks, too. I am getting into the market to replace my 2009 Tacoma and see that trucks have moved on, too. Heated seats, sunroofs, etc. Which makes sense now that these are daily drivers for many of us.

I find this topic to be pretty amazing as well. My '16 Z06 cost pretty much $100K and for that money, I expected the heated seats to function correctly. Warm on the low setting, hot on the high setting. They don't....they are pathetic. And as stated, this has been a complaint in the C7 since day one. Really disappointed that GM hasn't cured such a SIMPLE problem!

I think this is a sign that the demographics of the typical Corvette owner is older and softer than 20 years ago.

Of my 4 vehicles, only my C-5 doesn't have heated seats. (oh yeah, and my C-7).
I have an Avalanche that h has seats that heat up really nice, and I turn them on on the way to the golf course to loosen my back muscles. Our Impala has seat and steering wheel heated and that heated wheel is great in the winter.
I do find it interesting that the Vette lacks a few of these 'comfort' non essentials.
heated seats that work
heated steering wheel
blind spot warning

maybe older and softer, but I find it interesting that people like yourself are willing to not receive what you paid for....unless you live in a year round warm area where heated seats aren't necessary.

There is a good reason!
This is a good video by Car & Driver discussing the C6 and C7 "improved" seats:
They are improved BUT they also include "cooling." You'll see in the video the "cooling" uses a thick open mesh to help circulate the cabin air (that's all the 3 cooling fans do) up through the leather. It sits between the heating elements and the leather. That increases the time it takes for the heat to get "conduct" to the leather. Air is a great insulator! To bad you can't turn the fans on low, it may help. But you get one of the other.
I find it takes from 7 to 10 minutes for me to have to switch from 3 bars to 1! Just think about how you'all enjoy "cooling" in the summer while you wait! :

See above post for the reason it takes longer to get warm -maybe it will make you feel better-at least in the summer! :lol

It is not just the C7 that has this problem. My 2015 Colorado has the same issue. Lots of folks over on those forums have complained about barely heated seats and GM has replaced the heating elements on some. Seems to be hit and miss as to whether or not you get good elements. If GM offers them they should work. The heated seats and steering wheel in my 2014 Buick work great.
