NO!!!
With the 2014 you got 4 - 5 if you had a dry sump engine.
Now you get 2 - 3 if you have a dry sump.
With 2015/16/17, if you have a dry sump you get a free 500 mile oil change, then 2 more free ones within the first 2 years of ownership.
If you have a base LT1 without the dry sump, you get 2 within the first 2 years.

It's entirely possible your dealer threw some extras in there.
When I bought mine, my purchasing dealer said they would give me another two years/four free oil changes). I haven't taken them up on it because of the distance, however.
GM doesn't dictate what a dealer can give you as an incentive to buy.

Your dealer can give you 1,000,000 free oil changes if they want to.
The OP asked "does the general give 4 FREE oil changes on new purchase?"
The answer is NO!! The General (I think he means GM or Chevrolet - the big overall boss of all the dealerships) gives you 2 free oil changes if you have a non-dry sump engine, and 3 free oil changes if you have a dry sump engine. What an individual dealer might give you free, I dunno!?!?!?
Take a look at the thread below (there are many, MANY, MANY other threads - do a search). In there you can see a couple documents about the "Chevrolet Complete Care" FREE maintenance services.
The thread has to do with the Z06, which of course has a dry sump engine, but you can see that the documents also refer to the Z51 with dry sump - and it says dry sump cars get a free 500 mile oil change and two other free oil changes. The non-dry sump cars just get two free oil changes:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...il-change.html
It is well established that these documents refer to 2015 and onward Vettes - and I'm 99.99999% sure that the 2017 is covered in the exact same manner.
As mentioned by atvBob in post# 10, anybody can go to mychevrolet.com and login with your VIN to see exactly what maintenance you should do, and as his printout for his car (a Z06) shows, he gets "Chevy Corvette Complete Care - 3 Visits", and a non-dry sump car will have "2 Visits". Login and check it out for YOUR car!!
If anybody with a 2017 comes up with more than that, let us know!!!
BTW - the oil changes for a Corvette REQUIRE Mobil 1!!! Many dealerships will just fill with some lower grade stuff - so DEMAND that they use Mobil 1!!

I'm getting no free oil changes with my 2016 C7. My son is a Service Writer for GM-Cadillac dealership here in South Florida, and he tells me of the horror stories with the CTS-V's and the young kids that do the oil changes. No free oil changes for me, even with Mobil 1, not from a dealer.

Here's why:
FREE is not worth the possible extra costs, i.e.
1) cracked rocker panels or side skirts from not lifting properly,
2) oil dripping behind the dry sump tank because it was filled to quickly and overflowed and causing an oil smell in the car for a period of time. The spilled oil would be hard to clean from the area behind the tank that is where the flimsy cover for the cabin air filter is located. A number of posts about oil smell after an oil change, which I have never had in my C6 or C7 since I do my own.
3) the mechanics helper, who often work the oil change bay (and may have been flipping burgers the week before) taking the easy way out and pumping oil from the 55 gallon drum of the lowest price oil blend meeting GM dexos specs the Service Manager bought and NOT using the full synthetic Mobil 1! Some don't bother to take the time to run the engine to get the oil hot and following the required times (between 5 and not more than 10 minutes) to check the oil level and NOT just use the volume estimate in a table - as specified in the Service Manual..
4) many reports of oil overfilling in dry sumps causing oil to burp with the air from the dry sump tank to the air intake. In addition to it being ingested some runs down to the air filter, contaminating the MAF on the way and then drips on the ground! From reading many posts re C7 dry sumps for 3 1/2 years, IMO this oil dripping is caused more by overfilling than folks "operating at sustained high speeds in the first 500 miles! That is the observed fault for which GM requires that 500 mile oil change. Too bad some of those "required" oil changes actually cause the oil dripping from the air filter!
No thanks, I'll change my own!

I am not paying the $49 up charge, for Mobil 1 to be used in my 'free' oil changes.
I can do it myself cheaper, and I know that Mobil 1 is being used.

Had my Z51 500 mile OC this week.Free w/M1.
I normally do my own maint, but I wanted to be on record as having it done at the right miles by a dealer...just in case of a warranty issue.
They did a good job,but I'll do my own hereafter.

Or, if your dealer is such an out-of-touch a$$ that they don't know what GM requires, and they charge you an upcharge for Mobil 1, just do what it says at the bottom of that one document in the link I put up in my previous post. It says:
In the event a customer paid an upcharge for Mobil 1 under the Chevrolet Complete Care Program, customers should be directed to contact Executive CAC at (855) 435-7284 or email helpacustomer@gm.com for reimbursement.
Bottom line - there is NO upcharge for Mobil 1 because it is REQUIRED by GM/Chevy, or if your dealer is such an idiot that they can't understand the document that you print out and show them and you pay for Mobil 1, you get reimbursed for it!!

If they can get away with it - there is an a$$ in the transaction-but it's not them!

Hats off to my dealership Titus-Will
I received free oil changes for as long as I own her (up to four in any one year) AND they said don't bring her to the oil change line/portion of the dealership but to have the Vette mechanic do the changes....and with a Z51 dry sump system that's alot of the lubricant....oh and no upcharge for Mobil One...a good dealership can make owning a Vette that much more enjoyable and that much less stressful.............

I'm sorry, but I think the dealership, service writer, and oil changer are all tremendous a$$es if they disregard the guidance given in one of those documents I linked in post# 8.
That document references 2014/15 Vettes, but has been well established by many forum members to apply to the 2016 model year as well, and I'm certain it extends to the 2017 as well.
In there it says:
To: Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC Dealers
The 2014-2015 Chevrolet Complete Care Program for Corvettes was designed to take into account the preferred Mobil 1 oil choice of many Corvette owners. As a reminder, dealers are required to use Mobil 1 when performing oil changes on ALL 2014-2015 Corvettes through the Chevrolet Complete Care Program. Current reimbursement levels for Corvette are based on Mobil 1 usage. Please remind all personnel that only Mobil 1 should be used.

They are reimbursed by GM for doing the Complete Care program services, and if they use cheaper oil than what they are being paid by GM to use, then who is the a$$ if they aren't complying with GM procedures that tell them how to do a service for a customer??

It was 4 then they changed it to 5 if Z51 they added one after 500 miles. There was a bunch of posts about this though out 2015. Everyone I know with 2015 Z51 has gotten 5. Regardless of the dealership. 5 oil changes with Mobil 1 within first 2 years.
We have heard of dealers saying no to free oil changes, to mobile 1, to all kinds of things. There are lots of dealers that don't know anything about Corvettes. Just Monday bought a new Suburban and ask dealer if it would get free oil changes like my Vette and he said GENERAL MOTORS only does 2 except for Corvettes and they get 4 or 5 depending on dry sump or not.
My dealership is #1 in Chevrolet sales and #6 in Corvette sales in the nation.
I don't even have to ask about this type of think, they tell me.
This is the first time I've heard anyone say only two.

I get 4 years free oil changes. tire rotations, cabin air filter & engine air filter with my 2014 Cadillac ATS 2.0T. Had to kick some major *** the 1st couple times but there are notes in my file and now I have no issues.
I told the service manager that I had a survey sitting on my computer and I was having a hard time give them a 6 let alone a 10. My service now is excellent.
