For the low cost ($5 for 2 or some such trivial amount), I replace mine every 2 years. I don't like it when electronics are marginal, and prefer to do some preventative maintenance rather than wait until it fails -- often at an inopportune time!

Yep same here. Just replaced mine yesterday for a 2014 Z51 3LT. Battery type CR 2032. youtube has several how to videos on this.

Nice Convertible Tonia. We have a 2016 convertible so I am interested in what this issue was and how it was resolved.

Every two years. The price won't break you but opening that fob is a PITA.

Be sure to bring your video TAPE player to show the dealer your video TAPE. I don't think they're very common any more.

Man, what a bummer on a new car. I have not heard of that problem before. At least it's a repeatable problem, so the dealer can't miss it.

By the way, once you get it sorted out, look up Mods4cars SmartTOP. My best mod ever! Let's you open and drop the hood with just a push of the dash button (no holding) or, what I think is the best feature, you can close the top after you get out of the car! [no commercial tie, just like the product]

It'll be easy for me to remember when the two year mark is, as I will just change the batteries at the beginning of every even numbered year (so I'll do it in Jan 2020, Jan 2022, etc.)

You are having major issues with your Stingray and you ask about a FOB?

Tonia, I've merged your two threads together because both threads address issues with your C7.
