Default Question for fellow '14 owners:

Will you buy another "first rounder"?

For the most part my car has been problem/glitch free. The typical infotainment screen flicker (loose connection), low diff fluid and that's about it, flawless other than those two minor issues. So the myth about first model year problems, in my case was just that, a myth. My only beef is the options that came the next year '15, PDR, 8 speed auto (although mine's a 7MN), etc.

So I guess the only thing to consider is what will be introduced the following year after the debut of the C8. Quality wise, no question, I'm not afraid to buy a first year but next time I just may wait to see what the following year will bring as far as updates.

I've had no problems. I'd buy first year again. An extra year's worth of smiles and miles. If you're gonna wait and see what the next year brings, you wait forever because there's always a next year.

'14 bought with 1000 miles on the clock. Not a bother with anything just lots of fun and lots of mods making it my car. It's a keeper no matter what the future brings!

I've owned early VIN C4,C5,C6, and now C7. This one has had no problems while all the others had some initial issues; C4-power window ribbons, C5 some rear end bolts needed to be replaced before it was ever driven, C6 was a 6-speed and had the dead battery syndrome. Once those faults were corrected they were for the most part trouble free. Mine is an early '14 (#307) which spent about 10 days in Nashville for some type of pre-delivery QC or fix. All I've done is change the oil-no problems at all. My wife gave me the "here we go again" speech when I ordered the first year car again but it has proven itself to be reliable and helps my domestic credibility.

Absolutely. The only problem I've had with my 2014 besides two recalls is a flaw in the paint that was fixed under warranty. I chose the automatic and it bugged me a little when the A8 came out, but that went away pretty fast when the talk about the problems started.

Truth be told, I got some wild hair when the GS came out and considered trading for new but the biggest factor in deciding against it was the realization that the chances of getting another car that was this close to perfect were slim. The 2014 3LT vert has been near flawless; no rattles, squeaks, leaks, crooked trim pieces to offend my OCD, or air whistling through the convertible top seals.

My 14 has been trouble free as well. (Also a M7). The only thing I wish I had is the PDR that they offered after the 14 model year. But I wouldn't trade what I have just to get it. Love the car.

The avoid first-year models notion is obsolete when it comes to modern vehicles.

In the last 10 years, we've purchased a first-year E9X M3, first-year Audi RS4, first year Cadillac ATS, first year, Jaguar F-Type, first year MB C300, and first year C7. We never had a warranty repair on any of them while we owned them.

Some would argue that manufacturers are much more worried about quality control at introduction, and complacency sets in over time.

Mine has been great, two issues under warranty resolved. A little spot of finish coming off around the radio. New surround installed. That issue might have actually been caused by something like tree sap dripping in above, we couldn't tell for sure but I suspect that might be the root cause, they replaced it anyways no charge. Mechanically I had the roof rattle, fixed again under warranty. That is the extent of the issues I have had. Love the car.

My car has been trouble free and an absolute joy. Ordered it exactly as I wanted it from MacMulkin, great deal and dealer. Wouldn't hesitate to buy a first rounder again. Took delivery in May of 14 and with so few on the road at that time...it was wonderful...still today!

My 14 has been great - trouble free - 18,500 miles. And, I'm glad I got an A6. The only thing I might have changed with a 15 is choosing Daytona Orange instead of Laguna Blue (which I love).

My '14 has just over 5,000 miles and for the most part has been trouble free. One little hiccup with the fuel pump that had to be replaced but otherwise a joy to own and drive. Also thought about getting a new GS but am having a hard time justifying the 30+ thousand dollars for basically the same car minus the wide body.

Got one of the first convertibles and the only problem was the screen. Sure would buy a first year model again.

No challenges here. I'm not sure but, I'm thinking there were more challenges with later years than the 2014?

Well I guess it's a risk but I had a 99 C5, a 06 C6 and a 14 C7. Have had great times with all of them and my Stingray will be 3 years old on St. Patrick's Day!!! I really have to say that as great as my first 2 were, this car is fantastic! And since my wife said it's my last Corvette, like a fine Bourbon, I guess I'll just sip it slowly. Not!!!

Never again. Had a number of recalls. The third brake light was replaced five times due to delamination, rear bumper cover replaced once and the paint job was horrific. Difficult to program radio stations. If not for the the brake light, I would have kept it.

Absolutely!

driving a C& get you a lot of attention. Drive the C7 in the first year was crazy! It was so much fun having people come up and ask questions.

I had the same experience when I bought my 2005 C6...great fun great experience....

I waited until GM had several months of production and did not order mine until Feb. 2014, for delivery in April 2014.
Only been to the dealer once, last week, to reprogram air bag control module... I had them do it when I got my new inspection sticker.

When they started making the Camaro again, I did wait a year and ordered a 2011 which was still delivered in June of 2010.
I got the first 2011 that the dealer ordered.

While I don't have a '14 I wouldn't rule out a first year vehicle. Even if there was a flaw, there is a warranty.

I had a front window replaced due to rock chip and I believe the only problem I've had was the replacer broke a wire in the center mirror harness., it's been so long ago I don't even remember what the problem showed as, it was fixed under warranty though.

Spot on for both accounts. No problems with my '14 aside from very minor issues. Took delivery Dec 20th, 2013, one of the first 10 delivered in Calgary and have been smiling ever since. I may or may not go the C8 route but if I do I would have no issues with being one for the first in my city of over a million to buy one.

Good to see so many happy '14 owners so far and too bad about the one member who had some trouble.
