From C6 Base, to ZL1, back to C7 Z51
Wow, does it feel great to be back in a vette.
Went from a Base C6 into a Gen5 Camaro ZL1. Absolutely LOVED the car. Was so close to the perfect 80 mile a day, 2 hr round trip commuter. Excess of smooth power, super comfortable suspension and seats - just an absolutely magnificent car, outside of having to fill up the gas tank every 2 1/2 days...
But after 35K miles in the ZL1, I found myself really pining for another vette. Camaro was so smooth, I actually missed some roughness to the suspension, and definitely missed that "throw you in the back of your seat" gforce you can easily get at any time in the lighter 460hp car, vs the heavier and smoother 580hp. Also missed the ability to take the targa off and go "topless", and am just not a convertible person, and missed hugging the turns on curvy roads at silly speeds.
Had been looking for a lightly used Z51 (a more appropriate commuter for me than a Z06), and by dumb luck found a 2016 3LT Z51 7M with 1300 miles on it that just got traded in on a Z06.
I never stopped watching this forum. Nice to be back with a car.

Nice! Got yourself an almost brand new fully equipped Stingray! I tried out a '13 ZL1 Camaro with a 6 speed. Really did everything well but liked the feel of my then '12 Corvette better. Congrats!

Welcome back. The Camaro is a nice car but there is nothing like a Corvette!

Congrats on the Vette. But do you really think the Vette throws you back in your seat more than the zl1? I had a cts-v and I miss the supercharged torque and power every day. Don't get me wrong I love my Vette but that 556hp beast felt a lot more powerful than my current stingray. Either way enjoy your new ride!
