Default 2017 Grand Sport on Hagerty 2017 future Collectible Cars list

For what it's worth, Hagerty lists the 2017 Grand Sport in their Hot List of 2017 Future Collectible Cars. And GM makes an additional call-out that the Collector's Edition would step that up a notch. Of course, purchasing one of these for future value, well...let's just say I wouldn't put it up on my investment list :-) But if you're looking for minimizing your depreciation compared to other cars in 2017, maybe there's some inkling of truth? Time will tell.

I have one, but I think it's a little early to make that prediction

If it was a one year special model for 2017 and then GM announces they are killing the Corvette line in 18 then maybe so. But they will build the car again in 18, then 19, and most likely 20 before a new generation comes out. In the mean time there will be a ZR1 (the last gen hasn't held it's value very well) and most likely a mid engine version that will have lower production numbers. I think if you warehouse one for 10 years you will be disappointed in your investment. I know I will be since I plan to drive the wheels off mine.

Yea, I think that is key. If the C7 Grand Sport continues for the 2018 model year (would be surprised if it did not) then that certainly makes it interesting...

This makes me think of all the C4 ZR-1 cars with 12 miles on them I've seem go for $21,000 or so lately at the big box auctions after the owner's paid $30K for them 26 years ago and put them on blocks in the garage hoping to make some big bucks.

Buying a new Corvette with the idea it will one day turn out to be collectable is like buying a rock with the idea it will one day be collectable after Aliens destroy the Earth.

Now then, if one was to install one of those split rear window trim pieces before putting the car on blocks...

By the time it becomes a classic car, most of us will be too old to drive.

Mine is for me to drive, it will be my nephew that eventually inherits it that will ultimately find out....
