Default C7 yellow color shade change

Hey Guys,

What year did they change the shade of yellow for the C7? Was it in 2015 or 2016? I know its lighter now than when it was in 2014.

Thanks.

One shade lighter than the current yellow and I'd buy it.

That's getting border line urine color/look faded zone. You are not a fan of the curbside yellow?

Like the 1980 yellow and the 2015 velocity yellow. Racing yellow is a lighter color (wahsed out looking).

69 Daytona Yellow was the best yellow ever on a Corvette.

I agree. I have been seeing the 2016 yellows and was thinking those looked off. So as I am looking for vettes on line, I don't want to be duped by the pictures. 2014 or 2015 for me.

Then park it right next to the 1980! Oh ya baby!

Does anyone know what they called yellow in 1980? Was it just yellow or did it have a name, like Velocity Yellow, curbside yellow, etc.?

Just Yellow

http://www.corvsport.com/Corvette/C3...fications.html

http://www.rogerscorvette.com/specs/80.htm

In 1977 GM stopped using names for the colors and went with generic color names. They started again in 1990.

See the GM pdf linked here for 1980 specs: https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/gm-...tion-kits.html

I believe the link above references a name used on a different car line which used the same point code.

same paint code 52... 1977-1981

www.corvetteC3.ca/colors.htm here 77-79 has wrong color name for paint code 52)(see 77 yellows)
