Funny thread. I never once gave any thought to buying a car to attract female attention. Novel approach, but my choices were based on what I wanted to drive and what looked the best. Sorry to be a Debbie Downer.

Yeah.

That 'chick' would be my wife.

She doesn't care about any road trips or meets, she just wants to go get an ice cream cone.

That's where she remembers seeing Corvettes as a kid.

Cars are no longer chick magnets. There are so many other things that attract them. A car is not on the list. I would be considered what is termed "a bad catch". Here are my likes in order. Driving my C7, watching baseball, watching basketball, riding my bicycle 20 miles a day, running 5 miles a day, driving my C7 again, drinking beer, watching more games. You get the picture. Fortunately my wife is like me.

I am the perfect chick magnet. A financially secure, body building, Corvette driver with a Scottish Terrier. It is just too damned bad that I am happily married.

As I said in post #2, get a dog. Having said that, many women consider that a guy that drives a Corvette is a turn off because of the stereotype that Corvette owners are shallow people and that that's probably all they've got going for themselves and/or that they are trying to compensate for a more serious physical shortfall.

I bought my first Vette a little over a month ago. Just something I wanted. At the dealership my wife (of 20 years) made a comment to the salesman that she figured I would be trying to pick up chick's. Honestly hadn't thought of that. I think she was serious. Next day we are out driving and we had two separate instances where I received comments at stop lights about my new car. Unfortunately both times were older men. One on a Harley and one in a new Camero. My wife found that funny.

Now, I have noticed that every person that gestures or comments are older males. My wife loves this. She tells me that I now have no chance of upgrading the wife with a "newer" model. LOL.

I keep telling her that she needs to drive it more. She can trade up to a "older model" sugar daddy.....

I'm too old to care if chicks notice me and even if I was younger I would not buy a car to get noticed by chicks. Back when chicks usually liked me when they saw me and either really liked me or didn't like me when I started to talk. Cars never were part of the equation.

this is terrible not to care about chicks anymore ...how old are you?

As far as the C7 the car itself isn't going to get the chicks but it can be a conversation starter and get you noticed.

I'm older now Bill, so that ship has sailed. However girls do notice the car, but I have found the essence of the conversation has changed over all the years.

I care about one...

And the only people that notice my car are kids and old men.

Just the other day, I pulled up to a restaurant and a girl asked if she could take a pic with my car. That could have been a good convo starter if I was single.

Well I bought my first Corvette at the tender age of 18 and bought my 35th Corvette this past October at the age of 63. Not one of them did I buy "to get chicks"! I always loved having a Corvette! If anything...Corvettes have always been a thorn in my relationships! It was in my marriage and several girlfriends since. The Corvette= competition with them!
