Default Clear bra peeling

I have 2 small sections of clear bra peeling. Repair advise ? Or just take it to a detailer ?

Located on each side of the grill:

Thanks,
Barry

I would take it back to the installer.

Hmm, that's kind of severe. A few options that I have used on occation. Best of course is to go back to the experts. But I am kind of a DIY guy.

As always, be careful if you try any of these!
1. If it's clean underneath I have had luck heating carefully with a heat gun (CAREFUL) and simply pushing it down with my fingers. Too much heat an it might deform, so be careful. I pushed it down first and then "set" it with a little heat.

2. Option 2 (which some experts use) that I have done before is to use an Exacto knife to carefully trim the raised section.

3. If clean and a recent application I have added a little water/soap positioning liquid and pushed it down. A little heat helped too.

What brand and type? I'd take it back regardless and have them advise before messing with it on your own. You paid decent money to have it done...

I've only owned the car a week. The clear bra is probably a few years old.

Ahh, so you probably don't know who installed it, what brand it is, etc.

If you don't have any documentation on it, I'd look in the regional forums and see if you can find a film installer that comes recommended by other owners in your area then take it to them. Get to someone that has experience with PPF and Corvette's and get their opinion.

Where did you buy the car? Ask them who/what co. put on the clear bra. Once you find out at least the brand, you can google the brand and find out who is an installer in your area. Talk with them. See what happens.

Take it to a detailer/installer and they will probably trim off those areas. If you feel comfortable you can try doing it yourself but be careful. When you wash it make sure you don't rub towards (into) them.

You could have the entire piece replaced OR have him cut (remove) the small area that's lifting. I had the same thing happen and opted to have the small area cut out since that area is not at risk of rock chips. I don't even notice it.

Just say'n.

I would take it to an authorized installer and see what they can do to repair it. I agree that they may be able to just trim the lifted area out and install a replacement piece.

On the # 3 here on the job in the past has worked. But also has came back up after a few months. I would take it to the person that did if & see if he would replace it.

Thanks,

As everyone has mentioned, if you can find the original installer, ask them to fix it or replace it. Most installers can trim the edge (find a skilled installer), and it will be just fine. There is a lot of tension in that corner, so if installed improperly, necessary prep work wasn't done, or excessive pressure washing in that area, it can cause the film to pop up.

Most clear bra installers will be able to knock that out really quickly by just trimming the excess film.

If you need any help let us know and we can try to find someone near you (regardless if it was our film)

Thanks everyone for the advice. I took a new blade & carefully trimmed it. I need to remove some excess glue that had been applied but I think the end result will be better than I started with.

^^this worked on my truck. Someone (not me LOL) did not back it far enough into the barn before closing the door. The film saved the paint but one edge pealed up. A careful trim and it's been good for 2 years!
