Default Can you put flame thrower kit on a new C7 Stingray?

I would love to do this! Ever see the Lamborghinis at night when the blue flames shooting out the back? I was watching some videos with flame throwing exhaust coming out the back of cars and that would really be a crowdpleaser for the GrandSport! Thing is, i talked to a company who sells the kit and asked if it would work on the new C7 Corvette, and his reply was it should as long as it doesn't have the catalytic converter's.... and I'm like well of course it's got the catalytic converter's....

He said yes you would have to take the catalytic converters off but if you do that all your sensors will go haywire! Has anyone been able to do this on the new Corvettes? 😎

Lambos don't have cats? I guess I just learned something.

i'm not sure what the flame throwing exhaust has to do with catalytic converters but I know if you start to mess with those things and cut them off your going to run into a heap of troubles. It's not worth it if you have to cut the converters off.

Get curved exhaust tips and just use high flash-low power fireworks. Cut 1/2 inch of high temp electric tape and due to the heat they will go off on downshifts. Looks great and very cheap mod. I had red white and blue colored shoot out at the Corvette of Madagascar Whiskey and Scones event in the fall.

Hmm... I might try that! Does it have to be curved exhaust tips? The standard exhaust tips won't do?

Depending on the style you get, the cats have to be removed. The kit is designed to ignite the excess fuel that isn't burned in the engine. The cats filter that out and it will never light. I believe you have to tune the engine a little to make it run richer as well. And if you run it richer, the cats will eventually fail.

Another style injects a flammable fluid at the end of the exhaust and ignites that instead. Flames are much bigger and is a bit more dangerous to use.

run the corvette rich, with a lot of power and no cats and you'll get flames.

When you mess with fire things get burned. Something I wouldn't do to my car for someone else's pleasure.

Seems like there would be enough Youtube videos of Lamborghini's catching fire to deter someone from doing this... Just do a search in Youtube. It's all cool until your baby is going up in flames and every joker in the area is filming it for Youtube.

Personally I was taught, you mess with fire you get burnt... Just my two cents.
