as I understand it, most, if not all C7's , are bayed for 7 to 10 days before starting the shipping process. Just waiting for the truck ride to Toledo and then onto the railcar for the ride to Denver

Mine is bayed as well. For those still waiting, I'm not entirely sure how quickly you will find out status if you aren't a squeaky wheel.

The NCM had told me my build date was 4/18. I saw updates in this thread this morning and was still at 3000 so I got concerned. I already have airline tickets and a rental car set up and wanted to be sure there wouldn't be any delays. I called the NCM and at first they said mine would be "ready" tomorrow. However, before I could ask what ready meant they emailed materials about the museum delivery and MacMulkin emailed me that my status was now 4800. It was cool to see this this happen real time while bugging them on the phone.

Anyway, I get the feeling mine might have been built on the 18th as was originally planned and the NCM updated things when I called. It pays to be the squeaky wheel, apparently.

Actually now that I think about it I'm confused about one thing. I was told that after production there was a 7-10 day QC period before I could schedule NCM pickup. However it went to 4B00 immediately after production--updates went from 3400 right to 4B00--so what QC is actually being performed?

Or does the QC happen while it is bayed?

Good question, I was wondering that too.

Interesting. The description on MacMulkin's site:

4B00 – Bayed: At this status, your Corvette has been parked in the back storage lot of the Bowling Green Corvette Assembly Plant and is waiting to be loaded on to a carrier. It’s important to note that your order status may change several times between this status and the 4000 status below depending on how it’s being shipped (direct via car hauler or rail car from Toledo, Ohio).
made it sound like it was just sitting and waiting to be loaded. Hopefully more QC is going on there than someone walking by it and saying "Yup, looks mighty fine."

Wait...are you saying QC happens while bayed or that you have the same question?

Sorry for the confusion, I meant QC testing is conducted while the Vette is Bayed.

MacMulkin goes by truck, only dealers west of Mississippi River and parts of Texas go by train

Huh. Well yours certainly wasn't bayed for 7-10 days so I guess QC time varies?

Anyway, grats fellow TPW 4/17ers on a their Vettes actually getting built.

Well I'm doing the NCM delivery so I honestly don't know what other updates I will get. I have my delivery day confirmed for 5/2 and everything is on target for that.

I did just get my first OnStar report today. The tires are over-inflated.
