Melting Slicks
Just got notice from Mike Furman about an hour ago that I received TPW of 5-15-17. We just ordered it 4-13, so that was quick.

Grats on all the updates!
I'm a little confused. My original 4/25 NCM delivery day was rejected because it was too close to the 4/17 TPW and they needed time for QC. I think is it safe to assume that no quality control checks are being preformed on all these vehicles on rail cars or trucks.
Looks like better weather in KY on 5/2 anyway so everything will be fine...but I still don't believe there is any QC performed after a vehicle is bayed.

FWIW, the railcar tracking never did update, I just checked again and the response is still the same, indicating the railcar was in ohio

*Nobody commented about my quality control question in my previous post. I still don't understand but that is just me being an engineer and wanting to know why...

As I understand it, the cars are held in batches not for individual quality control checks, but in case an issue does come up, that batch can be recalled and the issue fixed on all affected cars. At least one car in each batch is taken on a 25 mile or so check ride and if anything fails, that car is relegated to the "Garage of Shame" at the end of the assembly line and the problem is diagnosed. In other words, the cars sit in the yard for a few days before that batch is released to the trucks. When I was there I saw a black vette in said garage with a couple of techs/engineers poring over it.

Can someone please walk me through how to use my rail car number to actually track the location? I tried googling it 100 times and gotten to the rail car websites but can't seem to find where to enter my rail #.
