Default Anybody else experience this?

I have a 2015 C7 base 2LT M7 Vette which I bought new. Since I got it, 2/12/15, I have used a USB memory stick to listen to my music. It's only 360 songs in WAV format but I like them. Anyway, it has always worked perfect until I recently got the Seat belt/Airbag software update. Now about every few minutes the audio turns off for a second or two and then starts playing again. It is just the actual sound that stops and not the playing of the song because when it starts again it is further into the song.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts or suggestions would be very much appreciated!!

Have you tested the USB stick in a computer or other player to verify it has not started to go bad? I'm told memory chips do have a life span and the mechanical connection at the USB port or connector can also loosen up. You might also move the music onto another stick and retest.

All of the above, plus moving your existing stick to the other port in the car.

Haven't had that problem, but I have had a USB stick go bad (it was doing the same as you described). I agree with the others, try another port. If that doesn't work it may be time to try a new stick. Good luck sir.

Most likely just a bad connection.

Well, it's not a bad connection and i have tried it in all 3 sockets. I tried a known good USB stick and it would only play 1 song, I burned a new USB stick and tried it and it will only play one song. I figured out that it is NOT indexing the songs on the USB stick and there is no way to force it to. My original stick and my new one work fine in my 2014 Equinox. It does index the songs.

The problem was the USB stick. I eventually got all of the songs to come up on the new stick, took the car for a 2 1/2 hour ride and the audio never dropped out.

I will reformat and reload my songs on the original stick to see if that fixes the stick.

Thank you all for your input!!!

I'm glad you were able to solve the problem without having to take your car to the service department.

I'm taking my 2016 in for an oil change soon, and will get the warranty updates done at that time. Think I'll remove the "stick" before I let them reflash the car.

Karl, I bought a new stick, and experienced the same problem. I just reformatted the stick making sure it was FAT32, put the music back on, and it worked fine. I have not tried a USB stick from the wife's Ford, but I'd bet it would play only one song if I did. I don't know why, but then again it is a GM built car.

Glad you got your's working.

You will need to check the small round aux port and plug in a music device and see if that happens or use your cellphone and see if a song on the cellphone will play through blue tooth wirelessly ( media ) !!! this happens on my 1970 monte carlo if I use my wipers because I used a 12 volt wire for the new retro radio ) ( not knowing which accessories were connected ) Wayne
