Just picked up at NCM: Rumors!
I just spent the day at the NCM and drove the new vette back to the hotel. We spent 7 hours in the process and it was worth every penny! John was our guide and stayed with us the entire day.
Plant Tour: Having your own guide for two people is really cool. Seeing the papered over windows over half the engine build section tells you something is going on they don't want you to see.
Racetrack. One awesome sounding Corvette was seen this week without camo racing on the track. "People" are saying it was the ZR-1.
Met fellow forum user Jason Dachtler (corrected: Thanks) there picking up his Grand Sport. Alas, neither his nor mine is available any longer on the web cams!
Awesome experience and discovered I still really can drive a clutch!

Jason Dachtler (userID on the forum is his last name) is who you are referring to. I think I caught all of you chatting in the pic below (Jason's car to the right), Jason is a friend of mine, we both work at Cisco and John Whitt who was your guide is the guy that delivered my car when I picked up my GS CE from NCM in February, John's a great guy!
Congratulations!!! I just can't say enough about the experience, you must still be flying high!

I'll be hooking up with Jason on the 26th at the San Jose Cisco campus, we'll both bring our cars down. Can't wait to see his.
We're also trying to get out to the Ron Fellows track in Vegas together as well, should be a blast.
Delivery day took forever to get there and went by so quick, but will never be forgotten!

^^^Now the suggestion has been made that it should be my wife who takes the Ron Fellows course. She does not seem opposed and neither am I. Hope it all works out for all of us.

You can both do it. I called and asked about, they were willing to do a 10% discount on the second person if they were on title. So it would work out like this:
$1,000 for one and $3,326 for the other would be $4,326 for both of us or $2,163 each. Which is ~$2300 cheaper than the regular GS one if you were to buy it on your own :-)

My God, you got us both! That's me in the hat. I had just gotten there. My car is to the left. I gazed at my car, turned around, and there was John, obviously a museum employee, just kind of hanging around. I looked at him, reached over, and TOUCHED that car then stared at him. Like, what could he do? He looked at me for a very long second, and then said, "You must be Michael. I will be with you for the entire day." The whole thing was very funny! I then looked over and yelled, "Jason!" and we met. I wish I had known he was Cisco. I was in IT and bought many a Cisco router in my time. Anyway, I managed to get the car back to the hotel in one piece (Damn, that 1-4 forced shift is a bitch!). Jason and his Dad are off to Memphis and we go to Knoxville tomorrow, then we both head West. Yeah, it was an awesome experience well worth the extra $$bucks. I just can't believe that part is over after waiting so long.
Just remember that in the C7, the 1-4 "forced" shift only happens between 16-19 mph. It's very easy to avoid by shifting to 2nd before or after that 3 mph bracket. Either way, you'll be under your break-in rpm limit whether hot or cold.

As soon as I get my Grand Sport home (built but not yet delivered) I'll install the ceramic brake pads already purchased. I will not live with the excessive dust and cleaning the black wheels every ~100 miles as I did for too long with my 2014 Z51 before installing Carbotech 1521 pads!
When the left rear wheel is off, with rear jack stands installed, I'll slide in from the drivers side, unclip the plug going to the skip shift solenoid and install the $20 CAGS Eliminator I have also purchased. A 10 minute job in total.
No concern when it attempts to activate when short shifting in traffic or for whatever reason.

Driving a clutch is like riding a bike-you really never forget and the C7's clutch is a dream. Good luck with your new C7.

Easy fix for the forced shift even though it occurs less than in my C6.

Congrats to you both on the new cars. I concur that installing the CAGS eliminator is quite easy - the only problem I had was that the instructions SUCK and I couldn't find the connector on my first try. It's hidden by the huge piece of insulation.

I've only seen the 1-4 shift exactly once, and that was on purpose just to see what it felt like. Yes, it's only $20, but I'm not in the habit of flushing $20's down the toilet and crawling around under my car for no good reason.

You can also remove the 1-4 skip shift via tuning, that's what I did in my C6. I believe it's a bit more intrusive on the C5 and C6 though. Even though it might not happen that often, when it does it's always a huge pain in the butt and causes much cursing.
