Oftentimes, forums tend to lean toward a higher percentage of threads about problems than they do positive experiences. I've had my fair share of both and honestly post my experiences, regardless.
I absolutely love my new Grand Sport, and wanted to start a thread that we could fill with positive experiences that 7th Gen Corvette owners have had with their Corvettes over the last few years. In addition, if you're excited about what the future holds for Corvette with all of the investment that GM has been and continues to put into the Corvette product line and the Bowling Green Assembly, feel free to comment on that as well.
How about another round for America's Sports Car!

I'm by no means a wealthy guy, far from it. When I factory ordered my former 2005 coupe it was my very first Corvette even though I'd loved them for nearly 50 years prior. Had that been my last Corvette, I'd have been very grateful to be a Corvette, any Corvette, owner. Not only was it a beautiful car that performed well, there was something special about the way I felt inside every time I drove it, washed it, or even looked at it.
Kind of to my surprise, upon the C7's unveiling on 1-13-13 I wasn't all that excited over the car's looks. I remember thinking that it felt good to not like it much because that would allow me to stay happy with what I had rather than trying to figure out a way to buy a C7 that I really couldn't afford. I'm somewhat embarrassed to say that that state of contentment lasted for just over three months until seeing the C7 in person at the 2013 NCM bash. When I first laid eyes on the Laguna Blue Z51 coupe that was on display it was all over; I was now in love with a car that I couldn't afford. Luckily the 2014s wouldn't be in actual production for several months; by the time I could actually place an order the memory of that first C7 had faded and I was back to being happy with my 2005 C6.
You can probably sense where this is headed. A year later at the bash the 2014s were in the hands of owners and many were driven to the bash. It's one thing to see these cars static in a building but seeing them in motion is a totally different experience. IMO that's where the C7 takes on a true supercar appearance. Fellow forum buddy Paul Pearson had recently taken delivery of one of the first Stingrays built. He drove it to the bash and graciously invited me to take it for a test drive. That was all it took; as soon as I could after returning home from the bash I ordered my 2015 coupe (even though I still could not afford it!). I rationalized using the "life is too short" logic. Fortunately, my wife was fully supportive of it even though I don't think she understood my strong feelings for the car.
My Z51 coupe was one of the first '15s built coming off the line the second week of production. I took delivery on 9-11-14 and it's been bliss ever since. Getting back to Jeremy's original point when he started this thread, I cannot put into words how much I love this car. I love the way it looks, the way it drives, the way it sounds, and the way it feels. Never did I imagine that the C7 would be such a vast improvement over the C6 (even later model years). The biggest thing for me, though, is how I feel emotionally about this car. Never have I loved or appreciated a car as much as I do this one. It just hits all the touch points for me and every encounter with it has me beaming with pride inside.
I remember when the 2010 Grand Sport came out. Upon seeing it at the 2009 bash I must have pouted for 6 months over not being able to buy one. It got even worse in 2012 when the 2013 427 Convertible was shown. I'd have damn near killed to get a Supersonic Blue one! That wasn't in the cards either so I decided that hanging on to my "lowly" '05 coupe was better than being Vetteless.
Things are different now, though. Some pretty exciting stuff has come out since I took delivery of my 2015 Z51 coupe e.g. the Z06 and Grand Sport. We also know that GM has more things up its sleeve for the C7. In spite of all that, I have no desire whatsoever to move up. My Stingray means that much to me. The truth is, I couldn't love it more if it was a $100,000+ Z06. That may seem odd but I've gotta tell ya, it feels really good to be happy with what I have and not lust over something else.
Thanks for reading!

I still can't believe that Chevrolet will sell you a supercar for such a low price. You need a buck fifty pretty much to beat it. Great car, great fun and nada problem except for a nail in a tire. Blaming that on Lowe's.

C7 vs C6
I have had two 2015 C7 Corvettes ...I traded my first one in for a 2010 ZR1...the ZR1 was a bad bad ride but the interior and the technology of the C6 is way outdated compared to the C7...the C7 rides so much better also.

It's human nature to concentrate on the ugliness in life while ignoring the beautiful. Love sports cars, always have and an added bonus is my wife loves our cars too. We clean and work on them together, and enjoy driving them together. After hectic work weeks, it's great way to enjoy some "us time". We just got the c7 last fall so not many C7 stories yet, but we grin like careless kids every we drive it.

I watched mine get built on 9/11/15, it's been almost a year and a half and 10,000 miles and it's been perfect. I can't wait to see what they come up with in the future!

There is no doubt that we are a very lucky bunch. Corvette owners I've met all seem to be nice, decent people. Up until the last decade I drove older cars but then came the time when I could actually afford new cars, I decided I like new better since my adversion to debt and payments wasn't an issue anymore.
Something about a Corvette that just gives you a feeling. I've ridden in Prosches, Audis, Lexus, BMWs and they are just not the same. I'm sorry some people have problems but our World is just full of them and Corvettes have less than most things.
