Default Are C7 owners morons?

I've had my C7 for 23k miles, over 2.5 years and have had no issue with having set my seat position (entry or exit)..... yet a couple of months ago I received a letter from GM on how to do this.

It's in the manual.

And today I received an email with an instruction video on how to do this!?????

There must be a lot of C7 owners out there without a clue on how to set their seat function for GM to continue to address this concern.

Anyone here have an issue setting their set positions with the buttons on the door?

What am I missing?

the manual was wrong despite that had no trouble however even flippantly is presumptuous to call some one who did have trouble a moron. There are plenty of folks who are not computer literate. You are just so special I guess

It's not just C7 owners. In general, people don't read, pay attention or retain anything in memory. They think by emotion and if it's not immediately apparent how to do something, they go ballistic. Chevy is just covering their *** to prevent some bonehead lawsuit.

I got that email today and watched the video link. I didn't even know there was an "exit" position setting...so I got something out of it!

Btw, it also pointed out a difference between the 2014 and later model years in terms of when the "beep" sounds.

So all in all helpful IMHO.

Well, I don't think I have a problem following the steps in the manual. Hopefully I'm not quite that level of moron!

However, sometimes it just doesn't work. I have it set to automatically go into the #1 saved position on start, but probably half the time, at least, it just doesn't work.

Pressing the button for memory position 1 will cause just a tiny bit of movement. Sometimes I have to press the button up to five or six times before the seat moves into the memory position. Sometimes no matter what, it doesn't move at all.

The silver lining is that I've gotten fairly skilled at adjusting the seat. Probably more so than I would have if this feature had functioned as I paid to have it function. So I have a pretty comfortable seating position, for whatever that is worth.

I thought it was informative of GM to send the video and did not take it personally.

GM was probably reacting to confusion that was out there on this function.

I think the word you're looking for is "old", not morons.

I had a hard time with the memory seats when I first got the car. Read the manual several times and even some threads here. Sometime they would work, other time not. It was not clear to me that the memory seats would not function if the seat back was all the way to the rear, and touching the back. Thanks to the YouTube from "That Cute Ginger" - she cleared it right up. You see, I had memorized the exit position with the seat all the way back and so when I would start the car, it would not automatically go to the stored driving position.

The video talked about the seats moving by themselves? I never experienced that but there must be some folks that did. Maybe the the NTSB got wind and so we have all the letters and videos.

Third, GM should have paid "That Cute Ginger" for her video - she did a much better job than that guy on the GM video.

No memory seats here. That's for the ballers.

What's the big deal? So they send out a video. I watch them as a refresher course. It was 2:40 seconds-no big deal.

I wish they would make more. It's just another way to stay connected to their owners.

I'm in sales at a Chevrolet / Subaru dealership. It amazes me the number of owners who come in at the start or end of daylight savings time just to have their clocks reset. In every case when I ask them, they say that they either couldn't understand the manual or they just didn't bother to read it.

Well I DO read owners manuals and the ones that came with my C7 (picked it up in December) are just beyond abysmal. Good grief it takes me forever to find anything in there, and half the time I can't. I find out here. By far the worst I have ever gotten with a car, and I've owned three dozen.

The average corvette owner is above the avg age of most car owners - and you know - technology and all......some are great with learning new things and keep up with tech - and others well you know - still want a cd player if an email stops receiving 4000 emails then why not. I'd do it too.
