Buying a 2016 Vert vs Coupe
buying either one of these new-both long beach red-vert has something called spice red design package and carbon fiber ground effects-both have 3lz automatic trans
the coupe has the corvette luggage comp seats chrome aluminum wheels
Guess question is the vert is more expensive less trunk space and since its been sitting so long the spice red inside and top look faded. Is one more desireable and why-both have there pluses
Thanks
Mark

Desirability is based on you :-) Don't go into this adventure thinking about resale value (IMHO).
I think it's all about what you like. A few things based on what you have here:
I think it's all about what you like. A few things based on what you have here:
- Personally, I like the lines on the coupe better than the vert, I think it looks more exotic
- As you mentioned, with a vert, trunk space can be an issue for some
- With a coupe, top comes off, best of both worlds if you ask me.
- I'm a fan of the ground effects, helps manage dings on the side (IMHO)
- Luggage set is an expensive option you may never use :-) But it is cool
- TONS of deals out there right now (for new ones - honestly not sure if the 2016's you're looking at are used or new on a dealer lot) and that may be something to consider depending on the price point you're looking at. There are some very large dealership that have a ton of experience shipping nationwide. Many of those are sponors of these forums and are straight up honest. Do shop around, don't be afraid to have it shipped, just make sure you see the color at a local dealership so you're fine with it.

With all other things being equal a convertible costs $4,000 more than a coupe. Like you said, both have their pros and cons. You don't state which attributes are important to you so I won't attempt to give you advice. When I ordered my car I went with a coupe strictly because of looks. To my eyes the coupe's lines are breathtaking, the convertible's, not so much. YMMV. I don't know what you mean by "both have 3lz automatic trans". 3LZ is the production code for the top trim level available on the Z06 and has nothing to do with Stingrays or transmissions. Are you looking at Stingrays or Z06s?

Vert, or Coupe.........That's a question for the ages. I like Verts, and others like Coupes for valid reasons known to each. It's got to be up to you, and what you want in a Vette. I know I'm no help at all, so good luck on your choice.
As far as the Spice Red I would bet it's not faded. The color is muted on purpose, and is a 3K option. It's one of those colors you love, or hate. There's not much in between.

I have had both, and, as you can tell, went vert. It's my third (of various makers) but you either get hooked on verts or you don't. Regarding the ones you are looking at, if the interior really is faded it would be hard for me to purchase. But, as mentioned, perhaps it's just that the shade of red is new to you. Regarding a faded top, it might just be dust collection. I had one non-black top, and it looked faded until I cleaned the dust off. I keep my cars pretty clean, but the tops collect more than you might think. Good luck with your decision!

The targa top sucks on the coupe. That roof panel can/will catch the wind, then anything can happen. The convertible top goes up or down with the push of a button (even can be cycled up to 30 MPH). If open air motoring is your preference go with the convertible (I had a C6 coupe thinking the targa would make up for convertible option - I was wrong).

These are both new-both are equipped with the 3lz option-the only reason i have waited this long on buying either one was cost-on the flip side of this why hasn't any one else bought these yet? Just turned 60 today and my wife told me to just go for just sitting in either car made me step just a little bit faster.
Thanks Mark

Do you want to take it on a racetrack ever?
Ever thought it looked like fun to drive on a racetrack? If so, you better get the coupe.

I like verts but that's me . It sounds like the two cars might have some expensive options that Did not sell well. If you like the price and the cars it nice to have choices. If they're the zo6 model they're a lot of car, 650 hp . The z51 or base stingray 465 hp might be a better car for the average person. I also try to stay with a black top on a vert. A lot easier to maintain

Its easy to see My choice...but if your wife worries about her
hair....it may not be for you...My wife loves the top down...!

Everyone is different I had a C6 vert loved it but this time went with a GS coup just love the look of it and hope to track it at some point not much.
my mother went with a GS vert i drove it down to Florida for her I love that one too.
It is a tough choice but one only you can make!
