I just got one, kind of pricey but very good quality, fits on the grille
pretty easily, and it's on there tight...doesn't move or wobble at all.
So far I think it's the best solution if you want to put it on or have it
off for show, pictures, track day, etc. Removal takes only seconds.

I have it, quite honestly I keep the plate on it and in the trunk. With practice it's fairly easy to put on but a little pricey. You need to make sure it is secured. The only alternative that I know is the motorized hidden plate that I have seen advertised.
^^^ I keep mine in the trunk too. Very easy to install if needed. just as a precaution I added some small pieces of paint protection film to the few places it contacts the grill.

I just trimmed down the factory aero panel to the size of the plate and drilled access holes in the plate just big enough for a phillips screw driver, so it is easy to remove the fasteners without having to remove the metal plate first. Looks as good as any aftermarket bracket. Also, I think retractable plates may be illegal, for obvious reasons.

I have a nicely modified front plate bracket that I don't need. It's a guick removable from Innovative Products which I modified and added a small metal frame to take the curse off the raw edges. I have $200 into it, it's yours for $100 plus shipping. See the pictures, it's really perfect for someone wishing to easily remove their plate as needed. Let me know.
I have the same thing and it works great for my Z06. Goes on/off in seconds.
Notice the frame I put on mine. I had to modify the original to accept the frame. I know, they said don't put on a frame. I believe that was because it wouldn't fit properly without doing that modification.
Can anyone find the thread about the motorized front plate that folds under the front bumper and disappears? I was looking for it the other day and couldn't find it.

Yes, I've read that it's operation is not reliable in the long term.
I was at an Arby's one day getting my fill of grease when a guy pulls up in a 13' 427. Scrape goes the fancy motorized license plate bracket as it got crushed by a parking pylon. The guy spent about 15 minutes trying to bend it back into shape. Even if it was mechanically reliable, it's gonna meet its maker via parking pylon.
