Painted alternator cover?
I am looking for a painted alternator cover that matches my TR painted engine covers and air intake cover. But I am having a problem finding a stainless steel painted cover.
The issue with the ones made out of fiberglass that attach to the alternator using velcro is they should not be used during driving. Here's what the manufacturer states, "The C7 (fiberglass) alternator cover should only be used for show use and not used for daily driving."
I did located a painted perforated steel alternator cover IMO it looks tacky and cheap. The only quality looking cover is a made from stainless steel, comes in either polished or brushed featuring the C7 Corvette Cross Flags Logo, unfortunately the only painted option is carbon fiber. They don't offer covers painted in solid colors.
Has anyone found one made out of stainless steel that comes painted to match exterior colors?

First, your engine bay looks awesome, well done. Second, I'm subscribing because I have been looking for a good bolt on solution myself. And finally, what's with all this aluminum perforated mesh crap available for every orifice of the C7? Not sure where these companies are doing their market reseach, but most of us are not interesed in shiny chrome looking Autozone stick-on crap. Body colored or carbon flash please. The RPI one looks great, but there has to be someone out there with a similar permanent bolt on solution

Just get a steel one and a rattle can of torch red and paint it.

Wish someone would make this. It could be painted. I don't know why car manufacturers don't make their alternators black. They all look like crap

Here's my 13 Camaro. Took a while to clean up all the factory garbage and retrofit C6 covers. Now I bought the vette and the starting point is just horrendous. Looks like bunch of crap thrown together from the factory. It's going to take a while to clean up. Yes, it's an awesome car but under the hood is a mess.

Maxie,
I've got the RPI Designs offering in Torch Red. It looks good and works well. I would suggest this one based upon your engine bay motif. My engine bay is VERY close to yours.
Just know that it is HIGHLY suggested to NOT use it for everyday use. I add it in when I'm set up for a show. Heating up the alternator is not my idea of a good time.....
Maybe the other perforated ones work better everyday. Maybe they can paint it Torch Red for you too. But my thought is that if you add a perforated one, you'll need to add something else that's perforated.

Mine is from American Car Craft. It attaches to the water pump and then covers the alternator without touching it. Great design. Steve Ray painted it, so you can scuff and paint these whatever color you like.

That's a gorgeous vette. Hope to see it in pesron at a show. I know yours is a tribute/show car, but would you put that cover on a driver? As someone mentioned earlier, heat is an issue. Enough of a gap to get some air thru there?

Thanks! Mine is a "Show-N-Go" car. I have almost 2000 miles on it and will be heading to Bowling Green in it next weekend. That said, there is plenty of breathing space between the cover and the alternator itself. It really is a great design.

Thanks. I'm going to look at this and if I go with it, I'll first coat it with SEM fine texture coating then a graphite finish to match the factory fuel rail covers. Did the same on a few pieces on my other car and it comes out looking like an OEM part.

Not Painted but of all I have seen, thought this is one I might get after other more important mods.
