The second 2018 Corvette ZR1 prototype spied testing on the Nurburgring at speed.

And if you look closely in this pic, you can clearly see the ZR1 logo on the wheel.

I would guess in production that the center will be black aluminum and the back 6" center of the hood would also be black - both in contrast with the body color.

IMHO, I've always loved real shaker hood scoops letting you know there is a beast under the hood so this treatment wouldn't be objectionable to me (even though it appears to be a heat sink - not an air intake).
On the other hand they could design the larger 2.65L supercharger plenum top to be a ribbed die cast top which could look great. The Car and Driver rendering shows a double rib starting at the front and splitting the hood bulge and creating the vent slots on each side of the bulge. I'm with you Tomlink on the shaker hood concept, only I think they would detail it to make it look more high tech. The whole front of this ZR1 appears to be more sculptural in it's design ethic.

I had convinced myself that, since I bought a vette, I didn't care what other people thought. (If you want to impress people with your car, a vette is not the best choice.) However, I now realize I was kidding myself: I couldn't drive around on the street with that big wing. I would feel silly. Turns out I am shallow and insecure after all.

They used them at Laguna Seca last month also. They are sound diverters. At Laguna Seca they have a sound booth that tests the DB of the exhaust sound during limited sound days. They most likely brought them to Germany since there are homes around the ring also.

It almost sounds like the more track-focused variant is supercharged and the less intense one has the DOHC engine, but I may just be crazy.

Ha, I can't wait for them to offer the wing to the rest of us. It would be awesome to buy a wing tested and built by the factory. So don't worry, those who hate the wing. I'll buy it from you.

They are a asymmetrical design though so they should be location specific but there are only two different wheels (front and back). When rotating either wheel from side to side the blade directions are reversed. Look at the driver side photo then look at the passenger side photo and you can see the reversal of the blade direction. I was hoping that they would have all four wheels location specific but I guess it's not in the budget. The optional wheels on the ZO6 Spice package are also only two different wheels.

Considering you most likely will drive at "street speeds" and not 'Ring speeds, why not just take it off, and keep the rest? I realize that sounds heretical to the Corvette/ZR1 devotees, but it is a solution and gets you the car.

You can see by both videos that they have two different configurations at the top edge of the rear fascia. One has the big wing with no additional spoiler( standard Stingray rear fascia) at the top edge. The other has what appears to be a straight line top edge across the whole back. See the above rear view for the straight line on post #68

I think I'll take the wing off the one I get and add Z07 aero to the rear.

I like them too. I tend to like a lot of the 5 split-spoke designs.

I'm even worse. I couldn't bring myself to add a racing stripe without feeling silly. Looks great for others, just not for me.

I had to look twice to notice the asymmetry. I generally don't like asymmetrical wheels, but these are very subtle. I'm making an exception.
