Has the design settled in for you yet?
Hello gentlemen (and ladies), I browse this forum everyday (like I actually own this car or something, not yet) and hopefully can share the same bliss you all have with these beautiful machines. But to the topic...
I remember the very first moment I saw a C7. It was 2013, and I had no clue what it was. I was just starting to really love cars at that point so I was way more green than now. Fast forward to 2017, much more knowledgeable, and here I am, still in love with this car. I still drool over the C7 whenever I see it in person, because as good as it looks in pictures, they never do it justice. This is maybe the only car under 100k that I've seen that has yet to date itself, in my eyes (the z06 that is). The most attractive feature, to me, is the low height of the Vette. This car has sooooo much road presence.
I always liked the previous gens, but this one took it to a whole 'nother level.
Has the design "wow" factor not yet faded for anyone else?
In case you missed it, no I did not buy a brand new Corvette, but provided everything lines up right for me. I will very, very soon have a Z06 to share. I just wanted to share my thoughts with you all!

Welcome to the forum...
You mentioned a "verge" in your post. To what might you be referring?
To answer your question...
I've had my C7 for about 8 months and the more I drive and look at it, the more I like it. It's simply the best Corvette to date. You'll love yours. I'll admit that it took a while for me to appreciate the overall design of this new Vette...I'd had a C5 and C6 previous and I absolutely loved the lines especially of the C6. But the new design and the overall performance improvements have made the C7, in my mind, the best Corvette of all.

Honestly i wasn't sure what to think of the C7 design when i first saw the reveal and the pictures. However when i first saw it in person, i think my response might have been "WOW" or something like that. I waited a year to actually buy one in Nov 2014 and every day it still has some wow factor.
What surprises me is that some people out on the road still take pictures and videos of the car when i drive by, once in a while anyways.

I was the first in our local Corvette club to buy a 2014 Stingray because all the others wanted to stay with 4 tail lights.
I did not want a Corvette that looked like all the others, and I still have people look at it and ask what it is...
I skipped a whole generation from a C5 Z06 to a 2014 Stingray, and I may keep this one another generation.

I was just watching a YouTube video of MotorTrend's review of the Grand Sport the other day, and they mentioned that after nearly four years, the C7 still looks fresh. I agree. I don't recall a Corvette in recent memory that has aged so well.
Like you, I don't have one yet, but maybe next year.

I agree. It's been out almost 4 years now looks like a brand new design and I pass mine daily in and out through the garage lol.
And when I happen to open the overhead garage door instead of the walk through. I am I'm awe of the rear of this car. I am a sucker for big hips!

I liked the C-1, but when the C-2 came out I thought it was one of the coolest cars ever made (along with the XK-E.) But for some reason the C-3 failed to impress, and that continued with the C-4 and C-5. When the C-6 came out I felt that the "Vette was Back!" The C-7 refined the idea to near perfection. Just my opinion on how it worked out for me. YMMV.

Best design since the C2. Still looks fresh. I hope they don't go crazy with the C8.

I've owned many Corvettes over 42+ years and I've loved them all.....but the second I saw that red/red C7 Z-51 roll onto to the stage at the North American Auto Show I jumped out of my chair and shouted "they just knocked it out of the park!! I loved the design from the first seconds I laid eyes on it and its gotten better over the years. I have owned two C7's now with my recently purchased '17 Grand Sport in the traditional Corvette colors of white/red. In my opinion, the Corvette is a masterpiece and I couldn't be happier!

That's actually a really good question, car designs often age quickly. Since the C7's release I've been in in love with the design. Honestly I think it looks as fresh as the day it was released. We look back at the early days especially with the C2 and say those were the best years / design etc...but I really think in 30 years people will look back at this design and engineering and say the C7 was the best corvette ever. The design is stunning.

I have owned lots of cars (including sports cars) but the C7 is my American first sports car and only my second American car out of the 20 or so I have bought and sold.
I fell in love with the looks when I sat in one in 2013, and I think it looks just as good now. It has an exotic look to it without being too over the top. I think this platform will most likely stick around until 2020 and will still look good. Maybe when the C8 comes out it will start to look dated, but I plan on keeping the car 5-7 years.

Took me several months when the C7 came out to completely warm up to the new style. Then it was a tough choice between the Convertible or the Coupe. The Convertible won out and it would be tough to go back to a Coupe in the future.

The styling is a home run to me. Interestingly, while I am a convertible guy, the styling of the coupe has really grown on me. My favorite design however is the C2, especially the dual cowl dash design of the interior.

I was a little slow to make the transition from the C6 love to the C7 love. I now look at the two, and am dumbfounded at the advances made for the C7. The way the C7 squats to the ground and explodes when you put your foot in it, the complete lack of body roll around corners, the finesse of the interior, the gorgeous angular lines of the exterior, the multiple intense personalities of the car - at one moment the best commuter ever, the next a race track maniac. I love this car more and more every day.

^^^ Well said! I agree although I can't get used to the coupes...on any of the last three generations. the lines of the 7 are far more complex when you look at it up close and personal. Work of art.
