Tire is a front 245/35ZR-19 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 non-runflat with 8,000 miles and 7/32" tread. Replace?

Absolutely. Continuous load will eventually cause that to blow out. BTDT.

I would for safety since that took a pretty big hit to the sidewall and the rim also needs to be checked to see if it is now out of round. If I was a teenager I wouldn't think twice about continuing to drive on it but now I value safety and convenience over the price of a tire.

Yes, absolutely replace it.
P.S. you may not be able to find another PS A/S3, since it's been replaced by the PS AS3+, which has a totally different tread design.

I was afraid of that but TireRack has some left at a discounted price of $187 because it's discontinued. Already ordered and had it shaved to 8/32s.

Some info for new Vette owners, especially Grand Sport an Z06.
Just got my Grand Sport and went to Discount Tire and bought a tire warranty. $260. Now if I get more than one flat (only one repair allowed per tire by Michelin) or if is near the side wall I get a new tire! They will also repair flats free. Not cheap or easy to repair flats with those low profile, wide run flats.
No problem with the fact that the tires came with the car. Much cheaper than the GM ~$1400 for tire/wheel "insurance." If I mess up a wheel, my fault, I'll pay but can't do anything about picking up nails!

Just FYI, free tire hazard insurance comes with a Tire Rack purchase as well. It's the same deal as described above, free repairs and replacement if it's not repairable.

Aren't the original factory tires warrantied? Why would you buy additional?

However, you do raise an interesting point. All new tires are warrantied against defects by the manufacturer. Generally, a bubble in the sidewall is considered a manufacturing defect.
