Burning Brakes
The only real problem I have with the A8 is that I worry that I might get a problem after reading this forum. I got mine in August 2016 and now have about 4000 miles. I once felt a shudder for about 3 seconds, and when cold, it sometimes revs too much in the 2-3 shift. The only major advantage that I have found for the A8 is that downshifts using the paddles are much faster than the A6. But the A6 was otherwise better from my point of view.

Hey Dave, you'll enjoy it and I wouldn't worry about it. We've had 4 A8s - still have three:
* '15 Z51. Put 10k completely trouble free miles on it. Traded it in on a.........
*17 GS. Have only put 550 miles on it so far. Opened it up yesterday and it works like it should.
* '15 Yukon Denali. Wife's. Put 12k miles on it so far. No issues at all.
* '16 CT6. 8k miles. No issues whatsoever.
I know some of them are having issues. If one of ours barfs, I'll just take it in and they'll fix it. And no, we don't work for GM. We just like cars - lots of 'em, and different makes. Enjoy your new ride!!!

Not another one. I'm so glad I don't have to measure my manhood by the number of pedals in my cars. Several of us (me included) have some cars with sticks and some with autos. Get what you like and respect the decision of others. All C7s rock, no matter the configuration. Sheesh.

Safety Car
Correct, but most likely no need to. I have to watch the screen on the DIC in order tell when the LT1 is moving along on 8 or 4 cylinders in Drive mode and I am sensitive to what the car is doing. I don't see why it would be any different for the LT4/A8 combo.
