Ok I did it I said I wouldn't but I ordered A 2017 ZO6 with a A8 with a TPW 5/15/17. Are the issues with the A8 getting fixed at the end of the 2017 model or should I JUST CROSS MY FINGERS? Thanks Dave

Dave,

My 2016 Z06 (March build, museum delivery) has been perfect. I think if you stay out of AFM mode you will be fine.

The A8 in my '16 with build date of 11/15 has been flawless. Coming up on 10K with zero issues I've read so much about on this forum. Every time I drive, I smile and congratulate myself for resisting the urge to go with a manual trans like all my previous C5 & C6's.

It's awesome. I can't even imagine the fun you'll have with it in a Z06.

If I could do it all over again I would probably go with a M7. I wonder what the cost would be to swap out a A8 for a M7...

Dave,
Ya really have to stop worrying about it. You ordered a beautiful car just sit back and relax. Besides, if you keep thinking about it once she comes and you start driving it you might be imagining things that aren't there.

BTW, the TPW for my Z is still at 5/15 status is holding at 3000. However, Kerbeck hasn't updated the tracking since 4/14 so it may or may not have changed.

I had a 2015 A8 and now have a 2017. The new one definitely has a better feel to it. Smoother, cleaner shift feel and less jerkiness at start up.

The percentage of C7s effected is really small, it may seem otherwise. But you have to remember for every person on here complaining there's thousands who are busy enjoying their flawless trans who don't bother to come online and comment.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you have begin having problems. There have been some changes to the tuning etc. since the A8 has been introduced and your car likely has the upgrades. iCongrats on the new ride.

I have a 2017 GS A8 and I've put 2000 miles on it and the trans is perfect so far. I have had to 6 speed manual corvettes and loved them but enjoy paddle shifting my A8. Never ran it in anything but manual mode and I love the car. I hope to never have issue with my A8 but if I do I'll let GM fix it

Dave, if you are so worried about the A8's, why didn't you order an M7?

Default Go for it

16 A8 just had a new differential due to the warble sound. Had a corsa extreme and xpipe installed at the same time. It's sounds amazing.

I've had my '17 GS A8 since Late July and there have been no issues. It's a great car. I hope you enjoy yours as well.

Dave, myself along with numerous others have shared with you our success and satisfaction with the A8. Mine was built 10/15. Hey, your 2017 Z06 A8 could run into issues, then again, you may have no issues. It is under warranty. It is a mass produced car. Why beat yourself up over it. Stay excited and enjoy your new arrival.

^^^ Thanks Tom I know you have been a big supporter of the A8. I am just curious if their have been any improvements on the A8 since mine has not even been built yet.

You'll be fine Dave. The A8's were redesigned after 10/15, and my 03/16 build has been great. They do have there quirks that are the nature of the beast. You will get used to them quickly though.

Here's one of the quirks, and it's go around. Post #4 in the thread shows you how, and there are other suggestions to help. EZPZ
