Rear hatch button not working

You do have the fob back there with you when you're attempting to open the hatch, right?
To open the hatch with the button above the license plate the fob needs to be back there within a couple feet of the button.
If you leave the fob in the cockpit the button won't work. If you have the fob in a briefcase, gym bag, etc., that you throw into the hatch and then you close the hatch (or trunk of a vert) the button won't work.
The fob has to be with you behind the car when you're trying to open the hatch with the button.

Even with the FOB inside of the car, the button will not work. A couple of months ago, I was 10-15 meters from the car and it wouldn't lock so I could remote start it. Could the battery need replacing?

After about 20 months the fob on my 2015 Stingray started acting weird. I took it home I checked the voltage, which was 3.05V while a new battery is around 3.3V. I replaced it and after that had no more trouble for the next three months 'til I traded the car.

The fob does not need to be with you to use the open hatch button on the dash (lower left of steering column). My car stays unlocked in my garage with the fob out of range, and I use it all the time.
I'm assuming that's the button he's talking about.

Yes, this is a vey confusing thread..
Clay, I don't think you have auto lock set up, so your trunk should never lock in your garage unless you actively lock your car there.
If the car is locked, you should not be able to open the trunk via the under dash button.
It would be helpful if the OP actually asked a question regarding the problem he has. ( I think he thought he did, but as it is we are stuck in this strange place of guessing what he really wanted to ask).

If it's under warranty still, you should bring it in.

Fuse 26 & 31 in the rear fuse box both deal with the trunk release module. I don't think it would work at all if they were blown, but it's easy to check.

I leave a key in my car while it sits in the garage. Pretty sure both buttons work. If you unhook the battery, they don't work till you index the 'vert roof and Windows again.
