Default Seat emblem chipped

Just noticed today, after catching my shirt, the seat emblem on my driver's seat is chipped. Don't know how long it has been like this, but:

1. Is it easily replaced; meaning how does it come off and back on?

2. Would it be covered on warranty?

For what it's worth: 2015 Z51 3LT

Inquiring minds need to know

I've seen a few threads on here about that. I recall it being a real pain to get to, the whole cover has to come off. I can't seem to find any of the threads about it and what their outcome was. You could certainly ask about warranty. Good luck!

I just found a few threads that conflict with each other about ease, pull out/clip on vs seat cover removal. Headed to the dealer in a couple hours to get their thoughts. Was looking for some guidance.

I have never seen a post about being able to just replace the emblem. Always they replace the whole seat cover.
The emblem on my 2014 is recessed and so high on the seat, I never come close to catching on it.

So.... Great News!

After a quick visit to the dealer, new part is ordered and it will be repaired under warranty.

So do they have to remove the seat cover in order to replace the emblem?

That is what the service manager said. I'll report back after the fact.

Argh.

Well, took a week to get the parts, and then 5 dates to get scheduled. Took it in this morning, and was told "hopefully by lunch". Got a call about 1:30, "sorry, the tech broke the new part when he was installing it." They ordered two more emblems with express overnight delivery.

So these are cheap plastic things.

They are two pieces. The emblem that you see, and the clip inside the seat that holds it in place. And yes, as a result, the seat gets taken apart.

Hopefully it's done by end of day tomorrow. Guess it depends on what express delivery means for GM.

If they are that easy to break, you might want to just leave it off.

Maybe, but then I would guess you would have two holes in the seat.

Black duct tape will fix that.

Glad you got it fixed.

Even works on license plates.

Argh!

Just had the damn thing break again. Went to the dealer, and they will fix again under warranty. It's nothing but a $.05 piece of plastic.

Thanks GM.

Sorry about that... just another reason to minimize such "stuck on" stuff, imho.
