Default Loyalty rebate?

I have a TPW of 5/15/2017 for a 2017 Grand Sport. So, it doesn't look like I'll make the end of April cut off for the $2,000.00 Loyalty Rebate. Has anyone heard any rumors that it may be extended into May? That would go a long way in off setting my state's sales tax.

No guarantee, but they have been doing it for quite awhile now, since last October or so.....since Sales have been kind of sluggish and Inventory is high, I think it's a safe bet it will continue into May at least.

Boy I hope you're right. That extra 2 grand would be a great advantage.

My build date is also 5/15. Hoping for the extra cash. Will make my deal even sweeter. Good luck to all who are in the same situation.

FWIW, sold my 2014 the morning I ordered my Grand Sport in the afternoon. However the Grand Sport was ordered to get exactly what I wanted, to get courtesy delivery and was told can't get the rebate unless you own the old Vette when the new one is delivered.

Tried my best, had all the documentation and got some very nice emails from GM -but no rebate!

Not surprised, didn't plan on it and the large discount available on the 2017 was great!

Sorry but that is pure BS, you were an owner who sold a Vette to order another Vette. Doesn't get more loyal than that. I would be furious.

How is that the case if you trade on win like the docs say? You wouldn't own both at the same time.

Also don't like the fact that the car has to be a 1995? Or newer. Why wouldn't an owner of a '67 qualify. Is that not loyal??

I sure hope that isn't the case. I only sold my 2014 so I could order a 2017. The registration in still valid on the 2014.

As long as you have a valid registration.....you are good to go! I have sold Corvettes in the past but, still had my registration and insurance card and had no problem.

Wish that were the case.
I wrote some well worded emails to several folks in Chevy customer service. Went back and forth and even put in the documents you'all mentioned! It got escalated up to a high level, no success!
Also put in the Rebate Guidelines published in the forum. No Rebate.
Good Luck

So, what you're saying is I have to either trade my Corvette in on the new one or keep it until after I buy the new one in hopes that I can sell it. That sure doesn't sound like "Loyalty" to the customer at all.

I also have a TPW date of week of 5-15 (it will be a popular week for a bunch of us) I have NCM delivery and Buyers Tour set up with Shane. I ordered from Mike Furman and he indicated that "probably" some sort of rebate would be available, however, he cautioned me, if I sell my C5 before taking NCM delivery (assumed first or second week of June) to make a copy of the TITLE as well as the registration to prove I had a previous vette.

I'm trying to sell my C5 here on the forum but if it does not sell, I have a fairly decent offer from CarMax so I'll turn it in to them the 2weeks between build and delivery

Loyalty? What in the hell is that? Sounds like a flash from the past with cigarettes and gasoline. Without that snappy V-8, I wouldn't have considerd a Corvette. While small, turbocharged engines are popular with many, I prefer a healthy displacement V-8.

Are you saying you had a valid state Corvette registration form and presented it to your dealer, and GM, and they denied you the Loyalty rebate?

Yep, that is what I was told after many email exchanges with lots of documentation! I even sent the GM Guidlines that are not worded that way. However written by lawyers the fine print (which were not published on the Forum but with all their attorneys, no doubt exists) may provide the loophole.

As this is my 5th Vette and I have Chevy 8.2 Liter BB in my ProSteet Rod I am a Loyal Chevy/VETTE owner. Placed the order the exact same day I sold the 2014 Z51. Well documented. BUT DODSN'T COUNT!

Did they ask to physically see the vehicle? I can't imagine they do that, should be just current registration/ title / insurance. Now it sounds like they know you sold the car but if someone walks in with those papers and shows them to the dealer and says it's a garage queen and it's not coming in for an inspection they could take it or leave it. You ship has sailed though, unless you want to try and pull your order and go to another dealer.

^^^
As I understand it they go by the VIN. If you had possession soon after you sold the car, you're suggestion would work. However if you order one than 6 or 7 weeks later they check on the old Vette VIN ownership when you take possession.

My argument is it's NOT a dealer incentive, it's for the existing Vette owner! My understanding is it costs the selling dealer nothing.

You'all inspired me to keep trying as the logic, as I have stated in my emails is: Chevy wants to sell more new Vettes and is offering the current Vette owner and incentive to buy another. Which I did. I sold it on my own having nothing to do with the dealer who is some 800 miles away! Most of us need to sell one to have the cash before buying the next!

This owner loyalty could be handled so much better. I am in the market for a C-7 convertible. I have owned several Corvettes in the past but because I don't own one now I don't qualify for the rebate. How many owners buy a new car without selling the old one first. How about giving the rebate to everyone to generate interest. In a way this rebate seems to punish the new Corvette buyer.

Loyalty works and is a great benefit. All you need to do is present a legal registration form that isn't expired when you close the deal.

JerryU, Did you present a current valid registration when you picked up your new car and closed the deal and then were denied by the dealer and GM?
