I was reluctant to give up my C6 but what a difference the C7 is. I love this car. Now after reading 2 days of threads on cup holders and phone holders, I have to find a simple solution. So far the lead is Proclip for phone and stop & flop for cup holder.

The current cup holder makes a nice place for the phone without the divider but then where do you put your drink. I tried the travel buddy on my C6, wife threw it out after she got in the car *LOL*.

Anyone know if the jacking pucks will transfer from C6 to C7?

Go with the Stop & Flop. Quick installation, and when not in use, close the cover just like you did with the worthless stock "cup holder ". Considering the $$ we spend for all the odds & ends for our C7's, the $40 is a rock solid investment !

I use the pucks I used on my C6 on the C7. the fit is a lot tighter on the C7 and can be difficult to get out. I have the aluminum pucks. I did a very little grinding on the part that goes into the slot eased the tight fit a little.

I just put in my jacking pucks from my C6. It is a tighter fit, had to use a hammer to tap them in.

If you use your cup holders then just leave your phone in the console plugged into the USB. Your apple CarPlay comes up on your screen. You don’t need your phone out.

How so? The piece that attaches to the phone isn't magnetic.

I just use a bottle that will not tip. Sobe water bottles work.

The metal/magnet has been known to interfere with NFC and wireless charging.

I just purchased the Beam Electronics Universal Smartphone Car Air Vent Mount Holder from Amazon for $15. I like the position where I was able to mount it. It works for me.
The Vette has limited options for mounting the phone, understandably so; after all, it's not a four door sedan. I hope my pics are helpful. Cheers

From your pics, looks like it would really block the A/C flow from that vent ?

I use the proclip and the dual travel buddy cup holder to solve both issues. The proclip holder / mount is a clean and sleek holder that is functional and secure. Doesn't block any vents and doesn't get in the way of other controls. Not sure why your wife doesn’t like the travel buddy but it’s the nicest solution I have found. I use the center console holder for my sunglasses.

The phone and its holder do not block airflow but they do obstruct airflow and my ability to change airflow direction from the air vent. The trade-off is that I like having the phone at this level. Cheers

I didn't realize there was a cup holder problem with the Vette. I know there are no coat hanger hooks and the third row seating is a bit tight but this is the first I've heard of the cup holder issue.

I use the proclip for phone (perfect position). And I use the stop flop cup holder to resolve the flying bottles of water.

There are several bottles that do not tip over, Sobe and Power Aid for example.
