Is Sterling Blue that bad?

Is Sterling Blue that bad?
I have not seen one in person but to me, they look good in photos. Macmulkin have some great deals on 2LT Grand Sports and several are SB.
I know the color came bottom of the list in selling numbers and that they have discontinued it after a year. I am a fan of Blade Silver so it surprises me that a silver blue color is that unpopular.
Thoughts ?

Like the Carlisle Blue, Sterling Blue had a limited number of admirers. I've not seen one in the wild either, but to me it looks nice in the pictures. Also, as you can see in my avatar I'm quite fond of the Blade Silver on the C7's.

I think it's one of the best colors, personally. With red calipers and black wheels, that thing looks great.

I love it too. Keep in mind just because it is a low selling color does not make it a bad choice. For non-customer ordered cars dealers are almost always gonna pick white, black, grey, red. So by default so many more of those are bought and sold.
Buy what you like but Sterling Blue is awesome.

Platinum Supporting Dealership
Personally speaking, I fell in love with the color when I first saw it at the NCM Bash last year. We had a Sterling Blue Grand Sport in the showroom earlier this year with light gray interior, and the Heritage package with red hashmarks, black wheels and red calipers. The car was stunning!

I thought I was going to like it but when I saw one on the lot that quickly changed. I went with Blade Silver and love it. Definitely go see it in person before deciding.

I'll be a dissenting voice. I really wanted to like Sterling Blue and thought that's what I wanted in my new Z06. I thought it might be close to the color of a '66 Corvette I had many years ago. Unfortunately, when I saw it in person on a dealer lot I just couldn't convince myself I liked it.
To me, the blue is too light. It makes it look almost powder blue in some lighting, which comes across as kind of passive or tame. I wanted my car to have an aggressive look, and I like the way the black accents really stand out on a light-colored C7. The Sterling Blue can look classy, in my opinion, but not aggressive. I respectfully disagree with the MacMulkin post that the black wheels look good on it (and I like those guys; I've bought two from them). To me they make the car look like it's trying to be something it isn't. A Sterling Blue stingray with chrome wheels will look very nice. Trying to make it mean looking in a GS or Z06 just doesn't work for me.
And - I actually thought it was very different from the Blade Silver when I saw them side by side. As you can see from my avatar I went the Silver route with the Z06.
Just my two cents, of course.

Melting Slicks
In my opinion the Sterling Blue and Carlisle Blue are Impala/Malibu colors-not Corvette colors. Different, yes, but with so few orders for them even the dealers were hedging on their popularity not ordering many for stock and a chance to sell them. The high impact oranges, greens, etc. are what GM needs to introduce some excitement into the palette. Even these may not hit the numbers the traditional black/white/red do but would make for some additional options. The 65th gray color doesn't do much for me either...

Sterling Blue with Twilight Blue interior is a sharp color combo, that combo was my second choice. I chose to order a GS Blade Silver with Spice Red interior which I'm told was move up to a 5/10 build date. You need to see Sterling Blue in person. I liked how in sun it looked more silver and in shade more Blue, I like how the same car looked different in different lighting. Dave

They had one one the Showroom Floor of our Chevrolet Dealer. It really looked silver with a hint of blue undertone.

Sterling Blue Convertible
Just got a SB Z06 convertible
Blue top sets off the color really great
You will not see one every five minutes like you will with white/red combo
Changes color depending on light
I believe the "rose" color came in at only 1% higher in sales but they kept it anyway

I purchased a 17 GS 7MT in Sterling Blue with Blk Wheels and Red Calipers. Why? Saw the body color on a local Chevy lot on a Z51...thought the color was a knock out in the AZ sun. (Light colors do better in desert IMHO...it's 104 today here in Phoenix with tons of sunshine.) Got mine out of inventory at Kerbeck (thanks to Amoni who convinced me to spend a few more $$ and get the GS).
The car looks plenty aggressive...but I definitely understand how in the often gray skies in the Midwest and Northeast, it wouldn't have been my first choice either. The SB color really needs sunlight to "pop" so to speak.

Being a UNC Alumni I really hoped it would be a bit more blue. Seeing it in person I was disappointed. I love my Laguna Blue but don't like it when my friends say they can't believe I'm driving a "Duke Blue" Corvette.
