Weird noise coming from the engine compartment after turning off the engine

It has to do with the HUD, turn engine off, look at the reflection of the HUD in the windshield and you see it moving up and down.

Well, since you addressed it, I'll chime in too. I don't even have a HUD. This is a mechanical problem, no HUD, no electrical gremlins and no poltergeist. Just a plain compressor issue
Check your email Maxie, I replied to you earlier this evening.

There was a leak in the vacuum hose so it would cause the pump to operate for a few seconds then off when it reached the set vacuum, then repeat until the car shut all power down.
Easy to check, just listen to see if it's making the noise.

Have not heard if the OP checked out what has been reported before that made periodic short electrical sounds, not the AC but the small electric vacuum pump on the left side of the engine in front of the brake resivoir etc. (my post #18!)

Also having this problem on my 18 z06. Seems like a lot of speculation as to the actual issue.

I was the original poster of that video back in 2015. I brought the car to the dealer years ago and attempted to duplicate the sound but was unsuccessful. All I can tell you is that my car is now out of warranty and has many engine modifications and still makes this sound on occasions. I see no noticeable difference in the performance of the car or AC in any way.

The person that posted the issue said there was a small leak in the hose coming from the pump and it was operating until the minimum vacuum was reached. Just put your ear near the pump, should be able to hear it.
Vacuum pump is the round aluminum ~3 inch diameter short "can" on left.
