Default Can HUD shift lights be adjusted??

Wondering if the hud shift lights can be adjusted to go off at different rpm. I want to have my shift point at 6250, anyway to lower the rpm that they go off at?

No. They change color from green to yellow to red as the RPM increases. Not adjustable.

Im hoping a tuner is able to figure out how to adjust this since its obviously possible since the shift lights go off at way lower rpms when the car is still warming up.

shift light on HUD it's hard to watch that and watch rpm to see what rpm it flashes and changes color, but I looked at some youtube video and I think it flashes around 6400rpm is that right? I am thinking just pay attention to the road and don't even need to look at the shift light, since when it flashes it's very easy to notice and you just shift accordingly.

is that how you guys do it when it flashes? or a little earlier/later than that? (for 1st to 3rd gear)

too bad c7 doesn't bounce off limiter huh? one time I was trying 0-60 and I just stayed in 1st gear (z06), and when it hits redline the engine just totally shuts down, which kinda sucks I think bouncing off limiter is more fun. but engine gets totally shut down I guess it's safer on the engine? so what rpm does it shut down then engine, exactly 6500?

Sounds strange I suppose, but I generally shift by sound. Once you figure out what 6600 RPM sounds like you shift right before that. I might have to watch the tach in 1st to refresh my memory, although I think the tach lags a little in 1st. If you wait till you see it near fuel cut off in 1st you will probably hit the fuel cutoff.

Totally agree on the sound....I'm not watching lights....it's a timing thing. Sometimes I'll catch the lights, but there's usually a lot of other things I'm focusing on. If I was really depending on a shift light I would install one that was more obvious to me than the HUD (it's nice, but not in the best spot), and an aftermarket one would definitely be adjustable.

My guess is that it is far too deep in the code for a tuner to get at that sort of setting....but that's purely a guess. The tuners can only adjust things that the developers left open for them to adjust.

Once you get used to the shift light sequence you can predict where to shift if you want to shift earlier. I rarely watch the tach. The other thing is the speedo works as a great shift indicator as well. Shift from 3rd to 4th at 120, shift from 4th to 5th about 150 to be near peak rpm.

Hmm, I like the lights! They change color as you get close to redline.
Now if the engine it not warm and the yellow band says the suggested max rpm is lower the do come on at a lower rpm. Not a good time to get near redline!
