335/25R20 wasn't available last week when I needed them. Had to buy MPSS-ZPs for the rears on my C6ZR1.

My '16 Z06 has been mostly down now for over two months waiting on the Continentals. I have a SLOW leak in the RR and a NAIL that punctured the RF, though no leak, so decided not to even attempt to fix as I had the other tires on order. I have 15k miles on the originals and they need to go, just from a thread depth perspective.

I just spoke to Tanner at Tire Rack and once again, they are quoting him ANOTHER 30-60 days out, which could mean anything. I asked him if there were any other non-ZP options. I will never track the car and it is used lightly and lovingly mostly by my wife, so no real need for an UHP tire. He suggested a Toyo Proxes T1R though it is a 345/205R20 tire. I asked him to send me a quote and also if a matching 285/19 tire was available for the front. Would there be a problem putting a 345 sized tire on a rim made for a 335? The tire shops hate us as it is... Any help?

I just ordered some for my 2017 GS, which has the stock front PSS (not the Cup 2) down to the wear bars at 12,500 miles. I drive spirited, but don't do things like launches or burn-outs. The rears are a tad bit less worn. During some light rain on the freeway yesterday, on a gentle curve at 75mph, I felt the steering go loose. That's when I knew that it was time for new tires. I've had excellent luck with the Conti ExtremeContact DWS on my other vehicle, and I recently just replaced a set with the new DWS06, which is somehow even better. I wanted to try a non-runflat since the road noise is very loud, the ride is fairly harsh, and the Contis were ~$500 less than the OEM PSS. Given the lack of other options and my AAA roadside coverage, I'll give the Contis a shot and try to remember to report back here with my impressions after a week or so

I responded back in June to this thread. I like my Conti DWs in the Audi. I have DWS on a Volvo but when it’s time to change will go to DWs in Savannah. No need for All Seasins - except for this past week. If I read your post correct, you only changed the fronts? In my view I would not run the Contis front and Michelins rear. Or the other way around. They have very different characteristics. When I need tires on my GS it will be a 4 corner change. Regardless of any other considerations.If you changed all four disregard.

BTW, I was looking on the Tire Rack site recently and saw a Cooper all season non-runflat set for 18"/19" base Stingray (ZEON RS3-G1) for not a lot of money. ($625 not including shipping and installation.) I used to run Cooper high performance tires on my Omni GLH, at a fraction of the cost of the OE Goodyear tires and liked them a lot.

Reporting back in after I've had some time to test these in different conditions. I replaced all 4: 2x 285/30ZR19 Continental ExtremeContact Sport + 2x 335/25ZR20 Continental ExtremeContact Sport . My installer noted that the insides of my fronts were almost bald (down past the wear bars) and showed me how low they were. He recommended an alignment to ensure that this wouldn't happen with my new tires. I'm going to do some research to see if I can have it aligned to have a bit less camber to alleviate this, since burning through a ~$2k set of tires every 12k miles seems excessive to me -- plus, there was still 1-2mm before the bars on the rears.

With the Contis, the road noise is very noticeably less, especially at highway speeds. Small bumps are felt much less, and large bumps have much less impact. The steering feel is less direct -- more of a "floaty" feeling, similar to very over-boosted steering racks in some vehicles. Cornering has less feel in all modes, but e.g. track mode is much more tolerable for canyons vs where I'd say sport mode felt before. Wet grip is greatly improved (it's been raining quite a bit here in the Bay Area). Cold (~50*F) traction seems better, especially wet...then again, I'm comparing to nearly worn rear PSS from before. The UTQG: 340 AA A indicates that these should last a bit longer than the PSS, which is 300 AA A. Having had great luck with the DWS and DWS06, I hope that they do. Lastly, there's a bit less sidewall overhang than with the PSS, but there is still some. If you're very concerned about curb rash / know that you're not great at parking without rubbing the rims against the curb, the PSS may be a slightly better option, as they have a bit of a "beefier" sidewall that sticks out a bit more and offers a bit more protection against curb rash. I would recommend these if you're OK with being without a spare and having a bit diminished steering feel for a much more quiet and comfortable ride.

I have a set of Continental Extreme Contact Sport’s on my ‘17 GS. Unfortunately I waited all summer to get them from Tire Rack. The rears were and I believe still are very hard to come by. Anyway, I ended up finally getting them about a month before I put the car away for the winter and can’t really give a good review. One thing I noticed was they are very quiet. I really didn’t notice that the Michelin’s were noisy but these Conti’s are very quiet.
I got them because I bought a second set of wheels and will use the Michelin’s specifically for track use.

I replaced the OEM Michelin tires with these on my Z06. I also have DSC Sport controller for the mag shocks. The tires are great. Much more compliant over the bumpy LA freeways. Better feel than with the Michelins. Less noise. Good combination with the DSC controller and a proper alignment (including rear caster!). While the tires are not run flats, I carry a Green Slime compressor/foam kit and tire plug tool for emergencies.

Keep in mind, they are not available as runflats (ZP), so if you go that way, carry a tire pump, a can of fix-a-flat, plugs, and keep your roadside assistance number handy.

I'll stick with a ZP tire.

I’ve had these now for about 3 months and we are in the cold and wet season in Portland. I have to say that they have really transformed the car. As others have stated the impact harshness is greatly improved and much more compliant over uneven surfaces. My comparison though is to the Cup tires, so consider that. Grip in wet weather is fantastic, down to mid 30’s with no issue. In all but the biggest downpours they seem to be able to move a lot of water while keeping contact with the road. Highly recommended so far.

Also, the car immediately felt lighter on it’s feet so to speak as the non ZP tires that these are, are lighter than the cup tires. FWIW, I’ve owned performance cars without ZP tires or spares for almost 20 years. One time with a flat, and no amount of foam would have sealed it. I’m perfectly comfortable driving ‘naked’, LOL!

I just bought a set of these and waiting to install. Coming from PSS and cup 2’s I’m hoping I’m not dissapointed in the handling department.

I had the previous sport contact model and they handled noticeably poorly compared to the Michelin’s.

On these new conti’s, the sidewall looks to be half the height , is this the case when installed? Looks like my wheel well gap is going to grow.

It they are the same size as OEM, the sidewall will be the same once mounted. It's simply how the tire looks off wheel.
