Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires

Hmmmmmm. Not so sure I like the “rounded” look. Kind of looks like the tires you see on European sports cars. Has that “rim to big for tire” look.

If I were to remove the wheel from the car and lay it face down on the ground the wheel would not even come close to touching the ground. They are recessed about 3/8” (wheel protection)

Thanks for the pictures. As stated in earlier posts I have the DW pre extreme models. The extremes look even more rounded then the DW line. The car is just so angular that I am going back to Michelin.
I'll have the DWs for sale in a few months.

Yah those were pretty bad taken in a parking garage with crappy light. I put some different ones up there with a little better light but still in a garage. Those look really good on your car. Thanks for the comments on the quality of my pictures.

Ha I was just messing around man. I was laughing out loud while looking at those pics and posting.
Something I haven't seen mentioned here is that these tires do not skip like the michelins at low speed turning. I don't get a single peep out of these. None.
They are much rounder, I prefer the michelin square profile as it fills the wheel wells better
However, I have driven about 2k miles on these already in the past 2 months, in sun, rain, freeway, city and coastal highway. They are great tires, they stick well to the road and haven't felt unsafe in hard cornering, yet.
They perform great in the rain, even with aggressive driving.
Bottom line is they are awesome tires and the price is right. However I would still prefer to have the michelins. (runflat, taller sidewall, probably better grip)

Did the ride improve over the Michelins? The reason I ask is because I'm getting some custom forged wheels and may switch to these tires.

You all may already know this, but just in case you don't...Luke at TireRack is taking orders for a set of the new All-Season Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ ZP tires for the Z06/GS.
I placed my order 2/19 and was the 24th person to do so.
- 285/30-19 - $316.00 ea.
- 335/25-20 - $354.15 ea.
- Plus shipping

Taller sidewall? According to the Tire Rack specs, the diameter of Michelins and Conti's are the same. The Conti's may be more rounded on the edge, but the sidewall thickness should be pretty much identical.

Ride difference in the street, who knows. I'd have to drive 2 cars one after another on the same road to accurately call that.

the sidewall is almost 1/2" taller , regardless of what the tire rack specs say. The rounded edge cuts that 1/2" off.

summer only, but they handle well in the rain
the conti's are summer only and handle great in dry / wet conditions. all seasons seem to be less geared towards dry grip. the conti's are for those who are looking for a cheaper alternative to the stock michelins, all summer with great grip.

I will probably give them a try since I hate the runflats: hopping, terrible traction under 50 degrees, harsh ride, noisy. Nitto Invo's could be used as well. I've had them before and they were okay but they're about $600 more than the Conti's and I doubt that they are a better tire.

They do look like a smaller OD. Probably the rounded making it look that way. Although, I have seen that tire specs are sometimes generic and actual measurements are a little different.

I know I am late to the game on this thread but I have these tires on my HPDE Nissan 350z. The wet weather traction is GREAT. But they are noisy as hell. It's hard to determine the limit of the tire when it is always screaming at you.
You need to turn up the volume, but you can hear what I'm talking about.
