You don't have to read it, you don't put any info in your profile. What are you afraid of?

It's a perfectly legitimate question, not against the Terms & Conditions in any way. It's just as logical to tell YOU to keep off the forum.

What if you pull into a parking lot and shut the car off...

Not for quick access Cliff. Mine is always under my right leg between the seat track and the console in a "sticky holster." I my mind what's the use of have a CCW if you can't get to it if needed.

You know, not once in my entire life, other than when I was serving aboard ballistic missile submarines and they were moving weapons, have I ever thought, "you know, I'd be, or people around me would be safer if I had a loaded weapon in my car, or on my person." Never.

Grew up in Baltimore, still live in the area.

Doesn't mean I don't own weapons, but just carrying them around? Just saw a program, where they studied shootings. Seems people with weapons are 4 times more likely to be shot, than people without them. The conclusion was that people with weapons, make much more dangerous choices because they have a weapon.

Yes, this is just me, and I'm not telling you what you should or shouldn't do. Do not get your panties in a twist.

It seems there a many weapons that will fit in the car. They even make gun safes.

Just for S&G I put a Glock 30s in there. It took significant pushing, and the screen did close. However, the fit was so tight it prevented the screen from coming down... two minutes and I got it out. On a side note, everything easily fit after field striping.

I have a 238 SIG and a Ruger SP101 357 that also fits in there but even though I have a carry permit I'd prefer ,while in my Vette, to have the ability to run away from any incident. Plus what most people don't know is different states and cites have different laws and you can get in more trouble than the any crook does. Just saying, don't be stupid.

My Bersa 9mm got stuck and took a while to pry it out. It would hang up and not let the screen all the way down. I keep my LCP in there at the present.

I carry the same gun, however it does not fit in the compartment while in a holster, and having it in there without just irks me.

I think the stats you refer to "if they are true" could be a byproduct of so many gun owners having no firearms training. Most train themselves and do great in stress and others not so well. Nonetheless I will always back the Right To Bear Arms.

Thanks for the responses fellas. Not a fan of snub nose revolvers so I think I'll go with the M&P9 Shield, I have the full size version and am pleased with it. S&W has a rebate at the moment so they're only $250 at Buds. Best grab 'em while they're hot.

And for the talk about the 'neighborhood' I live in, I'm neighbors with George Straight, so I can assure you that I don't live in the hood. I've never had a need to use a firearm in a defensive situation but for a couple hundred dollars it's worth it for the peace of mind. There are some crazy ******** down here in San Antonio.

Come to California, be a "law biding citizen", get stopped by the cops, and if they find a loaded gun in your car, no matter what your point of view, you will wish you did not have that little loaded gun behind the screen. And yes, I live in California and would not live anywhere else. The tougher the gun laws, the happier I am.

Please stay there, we can't stand anymore of you morons coming to Texas. I come to Cali to visit my son (he's in the Air Force) and I always have a gun. I have been carrying for almost 50 yrs legal or not and have never shot anyone. There are places here where you can be an hour or two from the police if you need one. I don't care what you do but you snowflakes know what's best for everyone. Please stay in people's republic of California.

Where I live I showed the county sheriff the hidden compartment. Before
He was sheriff he was A police officer with the state police.
I'm thinking many police don't know about the compartment.
As far as California. You can have it.I don't even want to go there to visit.

Sig 938 fits perfectly even with diy bin buddy. Keep my xd9 sub compact in glove box with 2 extra clips for both guns. My bin buddy is made of plastic coragated sign material so it can be easily knocked out of the way if need be.
