Old guy here, on my 7th Vette and I do my best to wave to every Vette I see. I would say I get a wave from about 90% of the vettes (any generation) I see.
To be honest I do not see that many females driving Vettes, but most that I do see are in the waving category.

Most Corvette owners around here seem to be a little sadity. They act like they don't see me.

It's because half the women driving a Corvette don't even know it's a Corvette. To them it's just a flashy new car and they nothing about the history or it's significance.
For the record, I wave at every Corvette I see just in an effort to keep the gesture alive. I get a wave back about 75% of the time.

Not proof but interesting.....
....nope, not about our "president" but I drive about 9 miles to work each way and on a semi-regular basis is a women behind the wheel of a white C6 with a green stripe and that is the only Vette I have seen/passed in the other direction that will not wave (repeatedly)...otherwise I have found the VAST majority of you readily wave....

Women out in public these days tend to think every man is about to rape them.
Walk around a grocery store and watch their body language.
Funny stuff.

Waving is overrated...

I always wave unless they zoom past me before I see 'em. The vast majority wave back. And if they don't, I'll still wave at every vette I see because I'm friendly and proud of our cars.

What difference does it make? If people/women wave, they wave. If they don't, they don't....no big deal.
I always try to wave if I see another Corvette. If they wave back...great. If they don't....great.

I like the wave, and wave to all C owners when I see them. The vast majority of the time I get a wave back, or they had already waved before I did - including both men and women. Far more male drivers though. But I find women wave as much as the men do.
Funny thing happened when I was driving our C7 thru our town a couple of weeks ago. Was headed to the dealer to get the 500 mile oil change and two women were headed across the crosswalk, facing my car. They saw the car coming toward them, stopped, went back up on the sidewalk and waved and yelled that they liked the car. Waved back and thanked them as I drove past. Probably 40's. Figured one or both of them owned, or used to own, a C. I like it - friendly bunch of enthusiasts who share the passion. If I don't get a wave, that's okay too.

If you need to read it in the owner's manual in order to make a courtesy wave to another Vette owner....you're not getting it!! I've been a Vette owner for over 40 years and a fan for much longer than that. Know your history!
