Default Too many C7's?

My local Corvette club, in which I am a member, put on its annual car show this past weekend. The turn out was great, 168 cars and trucks on a beautiful sunny day.

Two observations:

1. We had way more trucks then ever before. At least forty of the vehicles that showed were trucks or jeeps. Not a complaint (some were truly gorgeous machines) just an observation.

2. We were Corvette heavy which was not a surprise. What was a surprise was that the vast majority of Corvettes present were C7s (all variations of Stingrays, Z06s, and Grand Sports). I would say that of the 75 or so Corvettes there, 50+ were C7s. It almost looked like the back lot at Bowling Green... In fact, if I recall correctly, we had no C1s, no C2s, two C3s, four or five C4s, and about a half dozen each of C5s and C6s. The rest, as I stated were all C7s.

Just a bit unexpected, I guess....

Isn't that the way this works? Well, the good news is at least you had cars showing up. I'd rather come see 75 C'7 then go to a car show that only had 10 cars.

Don't worry, one day there will be 75 C9's and we'll be saying I didn't see even 1 C7 show up...

Interesting ratio of Vettes to other cars/trucks at your show. Here in SE NC the last 2 local car shows had circa 150-200 cars attend each show. Probably less than 15 Vettes total showed up for each show, C5 - C7s. We get a nice mix of street rods, muscle cars, customs, trucks, etc. Do your local car shows typically have a high Vette attendance?

This for me was the highest 'Vette attendance AND truck attendance we've had. Probably just an anomaly. We did have some really nice rods and the Mustang attendance was strong as well. Not much at all from the Mopar crew this time around....

Even after all the years the C7 has been out, when we have Corvette cruises up here there are still not as many C7s as other gens. So if there are 50 Corvettes in the cruise there might be 4 or 5 C7s and the majority of the rest are C5s and C6s.

People must hide the things then. Drove from VB to Dulles airport and back yesterday and saw not one Corvette up and back. I did however see a new red ZL1 Camaro when I stopped for gasoline. Thing sounded bad to the bone.

Probably the older gen owners figure why bother. Kinda how I see it now that mine is a couple years old. It's not that new thing you wanna show off. I haven't taken my C7 to the last couple car shows, and instead I take my garage queen "Yellow" 04 GTO. There's never any of those at the car shows I go to, and a zillion Corvettes. Last show though had 6 Corvettes and no C7s, so my C7 would have probably gotten some attention.

Here in Central PA there are quite a few C7s on the road. The owners are operating them more like every day transportation, have not seen any being driven in the snow. I think that future Corvette owners will lose the prized possession syndrome that many currently subscribe to.
