Default Backup all your settings to USB on 2017

Has anyone figured out how to backup all your settings to USB stick, inc favs, on a 2017? I've see a thread on doing it on a 2014 but it's not the same.

Thanks

I have not tried this but just happened to come across this yesterday when I was browsing through things...

Settings / Software Info / Save Vehicle Info to USB.

I don't see a reverse though, how do you import it after you save it? Or maybe I missed that. When I saw it on the screens my guess was that it just saved the info so you could review it. I'll have to give it a try and see what it dumps to the USB stick.

I just dumped it using that to a USB. It creates an XML file with part and version numbers, that's about it....

For troubleshooting maybe? Seems kinda useless.

Actually, doing a backup is valuable if all your data (favorites, Nav. way-points, etc.) are lost if the battery is disconnected (not sure if that is true) or if you mess up and delete something by mistake.

Agreed, but it doesn't look like that is what this function does.

You are correct, thats what I saw too. It's an old thread on 2014's and no reference to restore. For 2017, there is no option in "Software Info" to doing the "Save".
