PDR Valet Mode tonight....sort of...
So we went to Talking Stick Casino in Scottsdale tonight for dinner and music. When I pulled into the Valet parking I asked if they could park my GS up front and I slipped the attendant $10 and he said sure.
Then his partner came over and said..."still have a lot of tread left on those tires?" And I said yep, why? He jokingly said..."I'm going to burn them up"...with a smile on his face. I knew he was joking but I looked at him and said "oh no you're not, give me one second and I got in the car and set the Valet mode to record automatically...or so I thought.
He saw me do it and then he drove the car around to the parking space in front. He knew I was recording it. When I came out the car was in the same space and when I went to view the recording it wasn't there. I messed up when I set it to record....but he didn't know that....lol
And yes, I valet park my GS. It's just a car and it's insured. I've never had an issue with these guys. As long as you're polite to them and tip them, they do a good job.

Use valet parking anywhere it's offered. Never had an issue.
The guys and gals respect the car and park it right up front with all the other high end cars.
When I use the PDR valet mode, it misses the first several seconds from when they get back in the car to return it. I mentioned this to the service advisor, and he said they all do it, but I not putting much trust in anything my last advisor said. So when you do use it again, look to see how much of the beginning of the return trip is missing. Just curious if it's a issue on all the cars.
Thanks!

I get nervous when I give my C7 to my dealership whom I trust my car for service, I can't imagine giving it to a valet. All it takes is one careless bad apple.

I just give them 10 and ask if I can park it up front I keep the keys

My experience is that just giving them a nice car to valet and they tend to park it in the front anyway. They want to show off that they have nice cars. IMHO you wasted $10.
As for "setting the valet mode to record automatically" there is no such setting. Perhaps you meant you put it into valet mode where is will record automatically any movement of the car. IOW there's no way to put it into valet mode and set it not to record (short of pulling your SD card).

↑ I have noticed the opposite. For example, we've been to Fleming's Steakhouse many times with the Z06 and with our Porsche. Literally always the Z06 is relegated to a spot on the side, with the other valet vehicles, irrespective to tip as these guys know me and know I am not chintzy. The Porsche on the flip side is always parked in one of the four spaces up front. I always use the PDR and remove the metal key from the FOB as I learned it can be used to bypass the truck lockout.
People still have this perception of a Corvette's worth relative to other vehicles.
To borrow from a 70's song;
If her daddy's rich take her out for a meal
If her daddy's poor just do what you feel

Having caught valets beating on my cars, I have little trust. Also, fewer and fewer valets know how to drive stick here in NY.

I will valet rental cars, not my Corvette. I will take one of my other vehicles if I have to park somewhere. I'm lucky in that the Corvette is mainly just for fun. I don't have the PDR but I do reset one of the trip meters when I take it to the dealership.
