Not sure I'd classify this as a case of "speeding". To me, speeding is 20-25 over the limit, and considering that limits are often set with money or political ideas in mind, that is not a hazard as long as certain criteria are met. No, this crash is a case of reckless driving and criminal stupidity.

had that car gone sideways and hit anywhere from edge of front fender to mid rear quarter they'd both be dead.. i've seen it.. necks break. real trees don't break from cars. telephone poles do. 18yo in camaro ss hit a tree a 1/3 that diameter at around 65mph on a slick road passing another vehicle, legally, passenger side door impact. broken neck. he looked like he was sleeping. one of the saddest things i ever saw. happened about 13 years ago, i'll never forget it, or the reaction of the mother and father when I told them.
hope this kid learns.

In the wrong hands a z06 (or any car or motorcycle with that kind of power to weight ratio) is just as dangerous IMHO. I used to work in the motorcycle industry and constantly saw kids that age dying by buying 1000cc motorcycles as their first bikes and didnt respect the power. A kid that bought a new Suzuki GSXR1000 died on the ride home from the dealership when he gave it way too much gas. The bike did a wheelie, flipped over, and he was run over by the F250 behind him on the highway. At least these kids made it out alive thanks to all the safety features a car offers that you dont get on a motorcycle.

corvette forum is a joke
Everyone please don't believe this ****, that is not vehicle virgins's car. If you don't know who he is, he is a youtuber that owns a green 2015 lamborgini huracan, a 2005 bmw m5 and a mercedes s class, HE DOES NOT OWN A CORVETTE!!!!! And also at the time of the accident he wasn't even in the state in which it happened. corvette forum get your facts strainght or don't post bullshit that could have effects on someone's carreer, btw the one that owns a yellow corvette is speedstreet 717, he also wasn't the one in the accident but at least if you want to make it seem somewhat realistic at least use the name of a youtuber that actually owns a corvette. STOP INCRIMINATING RANDOM PEOPLE FOR NO REASON!!!!!

P.s. Being a "youtuber" isn't a "carreer".

I'm glad to hear no one was seriously hurt. All things considered, it could have ended much worse when you see how fast he drove his car on pubic roads on Youtube. He also has a photo on his Instagram showing 175mph on the speedo on public roads.
Guys at that age feel like like they are invincible and in control and nothing bad will ever happen to them. Hopefully he understands the risks involved now and takes his next ride to the track. Again, glad to hear no one was seriously hurt while learning this lesson. A car is just a machine and can always be replaced but a human life cannot.

i did the same stupid stuff when i was 21. i remember seeing 160 on a skinny 2 lane country road. then you get older. look back. realize you were foolish and it was pure luck that kept you alive and or out of prison.
on a side note you have to wonder if nissan considered these types of people when they made the GTR so forgiving

I'm finding it hard to believe anyone could survive this crash.

I wonder if they had to be cut out, or if this is what the car actually "looked like." Either way, it's crazy. That could have turned out much different than it did.

News reports if correct said they did have to be be cut out. Also stated that the female passenger had several leg fractures.

Streetspeed has a degree in finance and worked as an investor before realizing he could make a lot more money on YouTube.
Likely he will have all his cars and house paid off before he is 30 years old. Probably doing better than most people with higher education and more experience.
