If Chevrolet is not building anymore 2017 C7's why not put the 2018 on their website?

I noticed that Chevrolet has the 2017 C7 Corvettes still on their website. If they are done building 2017 C7'S why not put the 2018 C7'S on their website so people can build their 2018 Corvetttes?

This happens every single year, it takes them months to update the site after production has switched over to the next year

They wonder why sales are slowing down? They should have had the 2018's up on the site for the last month?

GM is completely out of sync with the new "web first" way of doing business.
In GM's world, the web is just a fancy, yet secondary source of info. They clearly don't see the need to keep it current.

Dealers Buy Cars!!
Think folks are missing the point! It is late every year for a reason!
Dealers buy cars and dealers have lots of 2017's in stock. GM will help dealers sell 2017s so "they" can order 2018's!
Probably lots of tire kickers using the GM website. If they come up with a specific 2017 car, a local dealer can scan all dealer inventory and arrange delivery of a 2017 if they find a match and with a good discount.
If an available car has an extra option or lacks one, that is what a salesman is skilled at, convincing you what they have or can get is what you want! Since there is little difference in a 2018 vs 2017 why not!
Dealers can order 2018's so you have to contact one who knows what they are talking about! Not as easy as it sounds! I often buy before the GM website is out and you have to do your homework on options and part numbers.
For fun, just checked Kerbeck Grand Sport inventory! They have about 100 Coupes and surprisingly 40 are manuals. Bet they all go quickly when Bowling Green stops taking orders for 2018s, which will happen soon for at least 3months. I noted the discounts are less than they were a few months ago! I have custom ordered all 5 of my Vettes but apparently most folks want to buy off of a dealers inventory. Therefore the dealer is who GM is helping sell cars! They do not build cars for their inventory!

There is a process from conception to development, testing and launch dates...and I think they do that with good intent (mostly). Only problem is their timing and scope is way off.
I think the previous model year was tardy as well, and the configuration pages weren't released until September or even October if I recall. The 2017 MY page actually replaced the design interface that one of my friends did.
Also, updating the site for 2018 probably expands beyond the Corvette line. Meaning, if they refresh the C7 to reflect the 2018 model year, it might not be updated until the other 2018 Chevy models are ready. Here's hoping that they get it right because they did an update back in February that isn't color accurate for the configuration page. You'd think they'd at least put a coming soon splash page though.

Pretty sure they can co exist..seen it done plenty of times 2015/2016 camaro recently ...it all boils down to when they feel is the best time and that does not necessarily follow logic....

Platinum Supporting Dealership
Remember, GM is not trying to sell you a car, their trying to sell cars to the dealers. If they want the dealers to purchase 2018s they need the dealers to move their 2017 inventory. If GM starts promoting the 2018 it would make the 2017 harder to sell which means it would cost GM more money (ie rebates) to help dealers move their 2017s.
Savy customers like those on this forum know all about the 2018s but you'd be surprised about how any Corvette buyers are not on the forum and GM wants them to focus on the current stock so that the dealers keep ordering inventory.
Also, this year is more unique since in two weeks they'll stop taking orders until probably September or October so they probably won't rush to get the 2018 info on the site.

Go....do that NOW! Don't wait for retirement.
Tell them I gave you the CorvetteForum C7 award for starting the most threads about the C7 and they'll give you a job immediately!!!!!
They need your input-you're a guy who thinks out loud. You ask all the C7 questions that no one else does. They don't know how to do that......
