A friend of mine is looking at two virtually identical Z51 Stingrays.

BOTH are Z51's

One is a 1LT with Mag Ride

the other is a 3LT without Mag Ride.

Both 2016's

Both with GT seats.

Literally the only difference between the two Z51's is the mag ride option and trim level.

I told him I'd get opinions on here as, he does not want a wide body and the car will probably never see any track time. My opinion was for him to go with the 3LT NON Mag Z51, as it would be great for trips ect..... and the comfort options of the 3LT he would likely enjoy.

What would you guys pick between the two cars??????

I would choose neither. Look for a Z51 with Mag Ride and 2lt trim level

I agree 2 lt r a 3 lt But if he was going to do racing in the car & chg out the mag ride for coilovers down the road then 2 lt r 3lt without the mag ride.

I love my 3lt with mag ride...

I can't remember all of the configuration details but I don't believe the 1LT comes with a HUD which I would really miss. I went with the 2LZ trim level when I ordered my Z06 and ordered the optional PDR/Nav system. I wanted a black interior and went with competition seats with suede inserts and decided the extra cost for 3LZ wasn't worth it to me. It wasn't that much price difference but I didn't like paying extra for higher end leather that I wasn't getting because of seat choice; if I had gone with standard GT seats I would have chosen 3LZ.

To me 2LZ is the performance/price "sweet spot". I would definitely miss MSRC. If I was your friend I would keep looking, these cars aren't rare and if neither one screams "buy me" then that is the perfect cue to keep looking for one that does.

If he is not going to track the car there is no need for the mag ride. Get the 3LT with out, he will be happier with the comfort amenities.

I have no idea if the mag ride in the C7 is any better than the system on my previous C6. If they are even close to the same (like you) I say get the 3LT. IMHO the options on the 3LT more than out weigh the mag ride.

Are they used? If so let me know about the one with mag ride if he doesn't get it. I'm currently looking too and if I had to choose one it would be the one with mag ride. I really want a 2LT with mag ride though.

I had a C6 with mag ride. The Stingray C7 is so well built it actually out performs the C6 with mag ride.
