Perhaps. But that was just one lap (I've personally been to Nurburgring). I don't think one lap would cause any supercharged car to overheat. Doesn't change what said at all about supercharged cars.

Ok GM lied and said the Zo6 is the best track ready car I get it is not a race car.BUT WHAT WE DO HAVE WITH THE Z06 IS ONE OF THE FASTEST FACTORY PRODUCTION 0-60 AND 1/4 MILE TIMES IN THE WORLD AND THAT IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME!!!!

One of the cons would be what tires are you going to use if you live in cold climates?
Under 50 degrees or so, the Cup tires turn into hard plastic..
Many of us like to drive all year round as long as its dry outside..
The lack of all season tires in Z06 sizes is a concern..
I drove my Stingray in Dec, Jan, Feb, with temps 10-30 degrees using all seasons...
I know some put their car away during fall/winter, but just putting it out there to the OP..

Your point is duly noted and appreciated since I didn't know there were no all-season tire options for the Z06

If your heart is set on it, buy the Z06, but the ZL1 1LE is definitely the better value and better performer. For my coin, if I were to upgrade from Z51, I would purchase the Camaro.

Agreed. I'm not showing up to a formal event in a ******* camaro, i don't care how fast it is.

Although the ZL1 1 LE Camaro has the same HP/Torque as the Z06, it weighs about 400 pounds more. Also, dealers are not going to be very generous with discounts on the '18 ZL1 1LE as they are on the Z06. Bottom line.... A Z06 Corvette may not cost much more than that Camaro ZL1 1LE. I'll take the Z!

That alone would stop me from considering it, because I won't own a vehicle I can't drive all year round in a climate that can be both very cold and very hot. I two sets of tires, one for each season.
Summer performance tires, just don't work well at all below 50 degrees. 460HP is way too much at those temps on summer performance tires. Of course, you can "baby" the car in those temps, but your braking performance will be marginal as well.

One thing is for sure, Camaro ain't gonna get no lovin on this site! Come on, "I'm not gonna drive no Camaro to a ******* formal affair", that is rediculous!

I really like the car. I've owned 3 Camaros. I love the idea of this urban hooligan car, ripping around town with 600+ hp and supercharger whine, scaring pretentious women and children. I just don't want one as my primary car. When I was 19 I liked Camaros more than Corvettes. Now I'm 33 and I want some marginal level of refinement and something resembling an adult car.
I'd consider it for a second or third car, after I had a "nice" sports car (and truth be told, the Corvette barely clears that hurdle).

Yes I would it and in fact that will be my next move. Nothing beats having that power and knowing it is there.
People will say you do not need 650hp, or 460hp, etc. It is not what you need it is all about what you want!
Do it.

If people just bought what they needed, they wouldn't be buying any C7. It's what you want not what you need. That's why I'm going the Z06 route.

Hi everyone,
I thought I'd update my status in this thread to first thank everyone who posted for their input. Secondly, I've made a decision after doing some vital research on the Z06 and my own Vette driving habits/preferences/wants/uses...
That decision is to wait and revisit this move next year. In part, due to the fact that the Z06 is a significantly more expensive car than my Stingray and is significantly more powerful (something that is more positive than negative ). I simply can't justify buying a Z06 right now.
I like driving my Vette well into the fall months if there is no snow or ice and there are no all-season options for the Z06.
As has been said in this thread, there might be some great deals to be had once the ZR-1 is introduced and I can get a Z06 at a discount.
Perhaps by next year, I will be willing to settle for just driving my Vette in spring/summer with the trade-off being the extra HP
