Default Can the NEW ZR1 beat the ZL1

Camaro ZL1 just ran a lap at the ring 7:16.04 (quicker than the old ZR1)
makes you wonder what the new ZR1 will do.

What does the Z06 do? Same engine, less weight, better handling. I'm surprised the ZL1 would beat it.

ZR1 should spank it, if the ~800+ hp rumors are true.

The Z06? It overheats and goes into limp mode.

If the ZR1 is an overheating sombitch like the C7Z.... no, it will not best the Camaro.

There is no way they will ever shorten that track.

Corvette could never get the Z06 to run that hard, that long. So there was never an official track time at the ring.

Didn't GM address the heat soak problem starting with the '17 Z06?

What's the fastest time one went into limp mode iin in 50f weather? Is it quicker than 7 minutes? If not... then you better beleive it kicks the crap out of a camaro with wing on the Ring. We'll find out when they test that car at same tracks the C7Z has already laid times down. I'd love to make a few wagers. Pm me.

so ridiculous with the overheating. It's a LONG track with plenty of straights after turns. The car used to get hot before the secondary radiator and older hat. C7Z Z07 7M would crush that ring.

Maybe they altered, or can alter the start and and finish? Somehow a 300 HP Honda Civic is only a second slower than a 500 HP C6 Z06 on some list I found. That seems to defy the laws of physics or it's an apples to oranges comparison.

Might be why they just shipped it back over there. They saw the Camaro video and said oh ****, we need to do better....

I would hope the ZR1 would be faster. I guess time will tell if GM gets the car around the track this time.

The "Ring" has been changed for the better and it's being reflected in the recent times cars are now displaying. The ZR1 has the added front cooling benefits of the ZL1. I believe the ZR1 will break 7:00.

The ZL1/1LE is set up like a Viper ACR and so will be the ZR1.
