Oh...wait....this car isn't going to turn the corners at all; no front downforce. Didn't Tadge say the C7 Z06 needed the 'spats' for front aero downforce. Since GM eliminated them on the new "ZR1", I guess Tadge was feeding us a bunch of **** about their purpose on the C7 Z06.
The spats do add some aero improvements.
How much...who knows?
HOWEVER, extending the front fender panels out properly (like every other car) would have eliminated any need for spats in the first place.
Just another cost-cutting move by GM.

I disagree, and think it's a clever way to give the car the aero benefit without looking like a greenwood Corvette. I can't prove any of it, though, so to each their own...

I just think it was intentional and a good idea, not a cost-saving measure.

My proof? They already had to make custom Z fenders anyway, they didn't "save" anything.

They saved by not making a new front fascia and the crash testing for it. To make wider fenders look right they would have had to of made a new front fascia like the upcoming ZR1.

And what, would they not work if they were body color and part of the fender? Or at least PAINTED instead of being exposed plastic? I still can't believe they're just exposed, unpainted plastic on a $75k car.

At first I didn't like the front fender spats, however after seeing some owners paint them Carbon Flash or install exposed Carbon Fiber, I think they look pretty good. However having wider fenders as in this ZR1 mule, is the best solution.

How much for the front bumper do you think?

Would be a nice upgrade to switch up the look up front. Getting tired of it.

Youll need the front fenders too.

Uh, let's see. Camaro boss Al Oppenheiser and his guys are setting new top speeds at the 'Ring for the past two years. Tadge and his guys are making burger runs to Micky D's.

Yeah, I'm impressed.

Can't wait for the production version minus the rear wing.

Doubt there will be one without the wing. If you want a C7 without a wing, they'll gladly sell you a Stingray/GS/Z06.

True, but they still could have designed the look better. That mini front grille between the two side inlets remind me of the clown car grills from Mazda. Not feeling the look at all.

I hope they got at least a really low 7 min lap at the 'Ring with the car that was shipped over on the Le Mans weekend, but a sub 7 min would be even better!
