Default Good Deal/Bad Deal? New C7 Owner

2014 C7 Z51 3LT
M7
Laguna Blue Metallic
21K miles
Transparent roof
Magnetic Ride
Performance exhaust
Blacked out badges
Stingray door sill plate
Carbon fiber interior dash trim
Stingray cargo mat
3M clear bra
Red painted calipers
Spoiler and side mirrors black
Black wheels

Dealer wanted $49K. I bought it for $47K. The sales manager was the owner and traded it in for a Z06. I thought it was a good deal according to KBB. No accidents, no issues. Tires were replaced at 16K. New brakes and rotors after traded in.

I pick it up 6/30. Anything I should look for/listen for on test drive? Car's in TN, I'm in NC.

Thanks!

You bought it forget about if it was a good or bad deal. Enjoy it.

"The sales manager was the owner and traded it in for a Z06."
Is this a sales gimmick? Seems like every used car i've considered purchasing was owned by the sales manager, sales manager's brother, owner's wife, or some other person less than six degrees of separation from the dealership.

OP, seems like a decent price to me.

Sounds like a beauty! Enjoy your new vette. Don't concern yourself with anything others think about it being a good deal or bad deal, you got the car and are happy with it and that is what matters.

The guy still has the sticker, it was $74K brand new. So after 3 years and 21K miles, I bought it for almost $30K less. I think that's pretty solid. All the pictures I've seen, the car looks immaculate. So hopefully when I pick it up, it's everything I thought it was.

It's probably because they get a nice discount on new cars and when they trade them in, they get more for it than if some non-employee did. If I was a sales manager at a car place I'd probably run through cars every few years lol

They really don't get any better deals than we do. Other than knowing the invoice and true value of the incentives which we are mostly privy to these days. They know how long the car has been sitting but again, even that is something than can be figured out.

As far as your deal, I think its fair considering its a late model somewhat lower mile car and you bought from a dealer.

This is true. I work from Toyota, upstream from the dealers, so the prices I can get for myself are even better than TRUE dealer invoice. If you were already in the market for one, yeah, I mean its a good deal. But certainly not enough to make me go jump on one if I wasn't already wanting it. If it was actually a sales manager that owned this corvette, I can promise he still took a bath just like anyone else would have.

You already bought it, whether it's good or bad doesn't matter.

Go drive.

What is done is done. Do not worry about it. I do believe you got a good deal. I just traded in a 2014 very similar to yours and got $45,000 from a dealer. You did good.

Sounds like a good deal to me. As said above, if everything looks good and checks out good who cares about a thousand here or there; they are great cars, enjoy it, drive it and don't look back. It's the most fun car I've ever owned, you will love it!!! Congratulations!!!

You did fine. There will always be someone that says they got a better deal. Don't worry about it. Enjoy your Corvette. They are great cars.

Right now that might be true, but when they're not discounted, aren't employees able to buy at Employee Discount?

When these cars were new and going for MSRP or more, Employee Pricing would have been a significant discount, I think.

There will always be someone that says they got a better deal.
Actually around here it's more that Joe Schmoe could have gotten a better deal... not that they did. People see a white 1LT coupe for sale cheap and start counting their imagined savings on everyone else's car.

Let me ask a question...if in fact the car did belong to the sales manager and if he did in fact trade it in for a Z06, how would that information have to be communicated in order for you to not accuse them of lying?

Your deal is on par with what you should be paying for a loaded C7. Last October I was looking at C7s. I found a 74k sticker 16 3LT A8 mag ride Z51 for 57k. New. But that is just about winter. And ridiculous 20% off. All hold back pulled as well. 10k is 10k No matter how you look at it. From what I've seen of loaded C7s, After the initial drop from new they stabilize pretty well. So you did well.

nothing other than enjoying the car. Something isn't right to you? Take it in. Where's the pics?
